No qualifying tonight to try and beat the weather. It was a successful decision! The crew threw all they could at the car and picked the brain of other teams. Special thanks to Paul and Mike for their help:) Owen finished in 6th with more lessons learned and some ideas for what to try next:)

Saturday night at the races brought cooler temperatures and two drivers feeling like their cars are finally coming together.
The Limited Late Model brought a fair number of cautions that led to single file restarts. Zach was racing with confidence we have not seen this year. It was certainly a nail biter!! He had just completed a pass for 2nd when the caution came out. He finished in 3rd, but he drove a heck of a race!! He crushed two outside starts! Way to go Zach!! Owen finished in 9th, but that is not indicative of the improvement he had in his car. Unfortunate contact resulted in a flat. Mom, Dad, Bob and part of the Lightning Chassis crew made a very speedy tire change! Way to go guys!! Always proud of these boys for their determination, willingness to work and the way they learn every week.

Zach and Owen ran the Triple Crown race and they went green to checkered! Zach was 4th and Owen was 8th.

The crew executed the quickest clutch removal of the top 5 and had a lot of help pushing the car back and loading it up! Even Remy helped;)

The boys have a week off and will be spectators this coming weekend. See you all in a couple weeks:)

"We cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails." — Dolly Parton

The weather tried to cancel the races, but Monadnock skipped qualifying and moved to features only. Fortunately they still held the backpack giveaway for all the students preparing for a new school year. Zach and Owen delivered their donations and hope all the children in the stands got a backpack they love!

Zach started 2nd and Owen started 7th. Zach was able to get down before a shuffle and settled in behind the 10 for a couple laps. He got a great run and was able to pass for the lead!! Zach ran 1st for quite a few laps with the 91 right behind him. They had a great race, but the 91 got under him and the 45 went with him. Zach brought the 7z home in 3rd which felt like a win!!! Great driving Zachary!!! Owen’s car was loose to start but it started to come together later in the race. He finished in 7th. We hope this is a start of having a better handling car and look for him to make even more improvements!

It was a warm 4th of July at the races, but the temperature improved as the night went on. Zach was towed off the track in practice…not exactly how you want to start the night… The crew pulled together and fixed the car to get it ready for qualifying. It’s crazy that they spend time fixing one thing on the car to have something else go wrong. It’s been that kind of year for Zach. The track was slick and Owen needed to make some adjustments to his car. They had qualifying with all 10 cars. It started to rain when the cars went out, but they tried to start the race in the rain. That was short lived because race cars don’t have windshield wipers;) A short rain delay took place and they had the Pure Stocks head out before finishing qualifying for the limited late models. Zach fared better than Owen, but both cars were in one piece for the feature. Thanks to Paul for jumping in to spot for Owen for qualifying!
They headed out for the feature…both on the outside. Zach held out there as long as he could and then got shuffled. He worked his way up to 5th after the shuffle. Owen finished in 8th. He had Dad as a spotter for the feature! It’s back to the drawing board for set up, but hopefully they will find the magic next week for his birthday!!

Both cars are in one piece and heading home. They even let Uncle Bob drive them tonight…(just to load them in the trailers);)😜

It was nice to have Zach’s car back at Monadnock. There is still work to be done, but Zach is bringing his car home in one piece and Owen had a strong 5th place finish! Hopefully they can dial it in next week!

Another Saturday night at the races! The highlight of my evening was strawberry shortcake, but Owen did race tonight! He was loose in qualifying and it was not perfect for the race. Owen did the best he could and the car is coming home in one piece with a 6th place! Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there!!

It was a tale of two race nights for Zach and Owen. Zach’s car was having issues in warm ups and qualifying. It was likely damage from the wreck that kept him away from driving last week. We were not expecting much, but that kid can wheel a crazy car. Although the evening ended on a wrecker after some unfortunate contact, he gave us more to watch than expected. That young man needs some good luck. The car needs some work, but he will be back!

And Owen…WITH HIS FIRST PODIUM IN THE LIMITED LATE MODEL!!!! Yes!! Car tweaks, seat time and driver confidence brought the 8z home in 3rd after a wonderful race with the 91! They put on a great show and it was fun to watch! It was great to celebrate that well earned podium. As always, I’m so proud of these boys. They work so hard, on their own cars and each others. It’s nice to see the reward of a podium. I can’t wait to see them both there and have no doubt that day will come!

Qualifying was great tonight for Zach and Owen. The line up was interesting with Zach right behind Owen on the outside. They worked it out and Zach won his qualifying heat with Owen finishing in 3rd. Owen showed great form and they were looking forward to the main event. They saw the exact same situation for the feature and hoped for the best.
A 50 lap limited late model race is not for the faint of heart…especially as the last race of the night following a modified race and pro 4 modified race with a lot of cautions (including a red flag and lots of speedy dry). I’m not sure what was in the water, but both cars sustained a lot of damage in an incident involving multiple cars on the backstretch. Someone drove up over Zach’s car and Owen had damage as well. Both cars pulled into the pits. Zach’s car had too much damage to return, but he jumped out of his car to help Owen get back out on the track. A true teammate and some brotherly love! It was not the night we hoped for, but when you look for the good on the evening, that was a nice moment. Owen made it back out and had his fastest lap time ever!! He finished in 6th.
