Second time since 2017 not getting paid. Again from Texas. Even offered to allow $20 payments etc after his granddaughter got sick. But has now deleted Facebook and Venmo.

There is a reason the copycats and bottom feeders struggle even when copying. Get the original and proven design that I created and designed…not copied.

Funny to see a store add a different 3d stand (at a higher price) to their site after first contacting me for mine. I told them to contact Joe but apparently they didn’t want to contact him at HFF and was worried about not having a large enough margin.

I’ve given Joe at HFF the right to sell my stands to stores, etc. All you have to do is talk to Joe to see what terms you can work out.

Well it finally happened. Since 2017, I’ve been blessed to deal with many honest people, often shipping before payment or even working with folks to make payments as low as $10 /week on stands and reel seats. People have always kept their word, until now, until Hugo.

Shipped some stands to Avilez Elcoyote / Diecierto Elcoyote / aka Hugo Aviles in June after being told me he had the money and wanted them shipped….but that was a lie…he did not. He claimed he had matters come up and I offered to work with him because I understand issues come up and I’d rather my stands be in their hands of builders helping them make money with builds.

After being repeatedly lied to since June 2025, and even offering payment options or anything, i figured I’d make this post so none of Hugo’s customers get burnt and so others offering equipment to folks do not get burnt like I did.

8 years was a good run of dealing with honest folks. Beware of Hugo if you deal with him and get payment upfront. Id you’re buying a rod from him, understand he is building rods on stolen equipment.

They say “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”….apparently several are too lazy to be original and would rather copy…good thing because I’m already getting orders from where these knockoff rollers failed. I appreciate those who are original and can make their own designs but have no time for those that just copy.

As many are aware, I only offer on certain bases due to a gentleman’s agreement, despite what I could have earned selling on other bases. I don’t copy and I don’t go back on my word. Money is nice but it is not what is important. Thank you to my customers.

I reached out to this person via eBay and their feathers got a bit ruffled for getting called out for copying. One thing will never change, there’s always someone out there that puts money above all else and this person is one of them. Also if you get this stand and then have to come to me to fix issues with it, the charge is now double.

On a side note, looks like I’ll be looking into offering original stands on eBay now.
