It is with great sadness that I have decided to close the doors to Kelly’s Canoe & Kayak Center. A combination of factors have made it impossible to stay open any longer. I have learned a lot since I took over Kelly’s. I have met a lot of interesting, unique, inspirational, kind hearted and generous people. Thank you sooooo very much to those of you who have supported me, to those of you that have spread the word to strangers about my store, to those of you that have selflessly donated your time and resources to helping me. I wish I could name everyone, but I won’t in fear of leaving someone out. I am honored by the friendships that have been offered to me. They say you can judge a person by the company he keeps. If that is the case then judge me well, for the company I keep is excellent!! Thank you to all who have come out and made the Wednesday paddles so much fun and such a success (they will continue on). One of the things I have learned about running this business is that I don’t want to be chained down to a building while you all get to go out to the great outdoors. What I enjoy the most is helping people Take It Outdoors. I enjoy helping people push their boundaries in a safe, educational and enjoyable manner. I enjoy creating a community of people that have a shared passion for the outdoors and adventure. So that is where Take It Outdoors Adventure Group comes in. I am going to start planning & running trips and events. My page is going to change over to Take It Outdoors Adventure Group (please check it out and become a "fan"). TIOAG is a group for YOU. If there is a trip you would like to do, let me know and I will organize it. As the group grows so will the list of trips and events. As we grow we will have more influence and I plan to get discounts from local restaurants, bike shops, ski shops, spa’s, gyms, etc. So please support me once again in this new endeavor. I truly believe we can grow this group into something that will benefit all of us, so come on over to TIOAG and spread the word!! Trips will vary from novice to expert, a few hours to multiple days, kayaking, backpacking, skiing, camping, hiking, social events, etc.. Your input and ideas are important and valuable to making this group a success. Please post any thoughts or ideas that would interest you. WEDNESDAY PADDLES WILL STAY THE SAME!!!
