Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to something greater than themselves. Their legacy challenges all of us; in leadership, business, healthcare, public service, and our communities; to live with greater purpose, integrity, and responsibility.

At APS, we believe leadership is ultimately about service. The best leaders understand that influence is not about personal gain; it is about stewardship, accountability, and commitment to others.

As we spend time with family and friends today, may we also take a moment to remember those who never made it home.

The team got together in DC!

Disruptive leadership isn’t about being loud. It’s about being willing to change what no longer serves the mission.

This week at the National Emergency Medical Services Management Association Conference, one thing was clear:

EMS is at an inflection point.

We’re facing workforce burnout, evolving patient needs, and systems that were built for a different era. Incremental change won’t carry us forward.

Disruption will.

But not the kind that creates chaos — the kind that creates clarity.

The conversations around disruptive leadership in EMS reinforced a few truths:
• The future of EMS will be led by those who are willing to challenge legacy thinking
• Emotional intelligence is no longer optional — it’s operational
• Culture is the force multiplier we’ve been underestimating
• And resilience isn’t about enduring more — it’s about leading differently
