If you decide to buy a Tesla, suddenly you see Tesla’s everywhere.
Did Tesla’s sales spike in your area?
No.
They were always there.
So how come they suddenly seem to appear everywhere?
This is the reticular activating system (RAS) at work.
This part of our brain didn’t allow you to see the Tesla everywhere you went before because it was actively deleting them out of reality.
Now that you have flagged them as "Important," you have become aware of their presence.
The reticular activating system (RAS) is a network of neurons located in the brain stem.
Think of the RAS as your brain's filter and spotlight, focusing your attention on what's important according to your thoughts.
The (RAS) acts as the brain's "gatekeeper," filtering out the vast majority of sensory information—over 99%—to prevent cognitive overload. Out of the roughly 11 million bits of sensory information that bombard the brain every second, the conscious mind processes only about 40 to 50 bits
It only lets in what matches your internal search parameters.
This is why the "Winner" is always winning, or the loser is always losing.
If you believe "The world is for me," you have programmed your RAS to hunt for evidence of things working in your favor, or the opposite if your thoughts are the opposite.
You will be aware of those who drive with courtesy, or those who have road rage.
You will hear the compliment and/or the insult.
You will be aware of the open door right in front of you, or completely disregard it.
Your brain literally edits out/in opportunities because they do not match the filter you set.
You are neurologically fixated on the positive or negative.
Changing the internal you is what changes the external you, your own Personal Reality. You change the external world by changing the Search Parameters.
If you program your RAS for Opportunity, you will begin to see deals, connections, and money where others see nothing.
You are walking through the exact same physical space as the broke person.
But you are living in a completely different reality.
Be mindful of what you focus on.
What you are "thinking" about, will be what you experience.
You are giving your brain instructions on what to keep and what to delete.
If you focus on problems, you will find them.
If you focus on solutions, you will find them.
You do not see the world as it is.
You see the world as you are.
