This Labor Day, weβre celebrating the people who show our kids whatβs possible!
During our last camp of the summer, βWhen I Grow Up 2.0β, we were lucky enough to welcome some amazing volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to share their careers, talents, and experiences with our campers.
They didnβt just tell our campers what they do - they showed them! They answered questions, demonstrated their skills, laughed with them, encouraged them, and gave our kids a glimpse into all the different things they could grow up to be. β€οΈ
A HUGE thank you to our incredible volunteers:
β¨ Mia Nelson - Former AGA Long Beach gymnast and current SJSU gymnast ( )
β¨ Cameron Kelperis - Former AGA Long Beach gymnast and former SJSU gymnast ( )
β¨ Marcin Szczepanski - Lieutenant at Gig Harbor Station 52 ( )
β¨ Kim Johnson - Pediatrician
β¨ Dan Henderson - Cascade Canoe and Kayak Racing Team ( ) partnered with β¨ Alyson Mrozinski - Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team ( ) β¨ Mike Mcdonald - Vice President of Pulse Heart Institute at Multicare
Thank you for sharing your time, your knowledge, and a little piece of your world with our campers. You never know which child you might inspire to say:
βWhen I grow up, I want to be just like you.β
β€οΈHappy Labor Day to all the hardworking people in our community and especially to those who take the time to inspire the next generation!
