I have never prepared for something more…ok well maybe hosting Thanksgiving, but honestly we have been nonstop for a few days. The house is stocked with extra food and water, I have washed all of our cloths and bedding (in case we lose power), the family is washed too lol. Bath tub full with water as well as two giant trash cans to use in order to flush our toilets.
We also have water at every sink for washing hands, and water for drinking and in the fridge. We have food frozen and a way to tell if things have thawed and frozen again. I have prepped tons of food for us to eat so that if we cannot warm it up we still have healthy choices.
There is a go bag if we need to cut and run for some reason, we also have the whole house closed off with storm shutters, plenty of batteries, flashlights, lanterns etc. There are activities that do and don’t involve electricity for the girls set up, and oh our phones are updated so we can make satellite phone calls God forbid.
To all my friends and family checking in on us thank you! We are as good as we can be now, we are not in a mandatory evacuation zone. We have friends who lost much and stand to lose more in this storm. Please pray for everyone’s safety and that this may be an opportunity for God’s people to glorify him even in the storm.
