Another Day of Taking Care of Twin Creek!
Sunday we tackled a massive log jam on Twin Creek to create a safe passage for kayakers. After recent high water, this giant tree came down and blocked the channel, creating a hazard for paddlers.
Instead of just talking about it, we grabbed the chainsaws and got to work. After a lot of hard work, there’s now a safe route through this section of the creek.
I often hear that because we have a kayak business, we’re responsible for every tree and log in the creek. The reality is that we don’t own the waterway, but we care deeply about it. When we can safely improve access and make the creek safer for everyone, we’re happy to help.
A friendly reminder:
Rivers change constantly.
Storms and high water can create new log jams and other hazards overnight. Always stay alert and paddle within your ability.
One thing that makes Twin Creek special is that it’s a short season. Because of naturally lower summer water levels, our kayaking season typically wraps up around June 30. We work hard to make the most of every day we’re on the water and to keep the creek enjoyable for everyone while conditions allow.
Thank you to everyone who supports Twin Creek and appreciates the work that goes into maintaining a safe and fun paddling experience. We look forward to seeing you on the water!
