As Adversity-Wisconsin VBC heads into the new year, I want to share some reasons why our club is gaining momentum in such a short period of time:
1) Character Development: We want our kids to represent the sport, their families and the club to the highest level - how we carry ourselves and being responsible for our actions both on and off the court means something to us! Each coach tackles cha
racter building and team building in their own way and I will be sharing even more of my ideas with our staff to further excel in this area.
2) Staff Development: We host a 3 hour staff training that is above and beyond the requirements needed to coach in the Badger Region. Our 2nd consecutive year of our own training will include implementing our own innovative serving strategies, attacking focus areas, serve-receive shifts & position-specific training. Our goal is to obtain & train the best coaches in the area - we will only offer particular age groups if we feel we have the proper coach in place that will meet our present goals and future aspirations!
3) Team Training Facilities: I can proudly say we have our very own facility, the ATC in Germantown. Also our consistent practice schedules are usually in place prior to try-outs!
4) Competitive Tournaments: We’ve found that having a tough tournament schedule by playing up an age level or two can improve team performance without adding unnecessary miles. Local events are within about an hour drive, and when overnight stays are needed, hotel costs are already included in your club fees! Additional reasons for choosing Adversity-Wisconsin VBC include: our evident attention to detail, fundraising opportunities when needed, excellent uniforms and the use of our equipment to promote responsibility (setter balls and therabands). We stuck by our motto of starting small and doing things right! We had 2 teams our inaugural season and both earned bids to Nationals. We grew to 3 teams in our second year, 4 teams in our 3rd year and were again represented at the JOVC both years. To date we have sent 4 out of 9 teams to participate at USAV Nationals! Doing things right or not doing them at all is the reason we are having a huge amount of success in such a short time! Our overall goal is to someday provide teams ages 13’s-18’s (quality coaches needed)! We hope you will want to be a part of our continued success as we develop & shape the future of Adversity-Wisconsin VBC! Feel free to contact us with any questions – we site communication as a huge factor in the entire process! We hope to see you at tune-ups, try-outs and on the court!
