I know this sounds crazy with summer break coming up, but high school golf season is right around the corner. Our tryout dates will be at The University Club on Leestown Road July 15th and 16th. Tee times will start at 11:00 am each day and players must attend both days. Unlike previous years, the golf teams will be limited to a total of 12 available spots. There will not be a “practice squad” this coming season.
If your son intends to participate in tryouts, I need an email confirmation before June 23rd. Please email me at [email protected] and include your son’s name and what grade they will be in next year. I will need to have all my tee times booked for tryouts on June 24th before dead period starts. We have 4 teams scheduled for tryouts on the same days, once tee times are scheduled, I may not be able to add players after June 24th.
I will have a parent meeting June 24th at 6:00 in the cafeteria at Great Crossing High School. We will discuss tryouts, dead period, how the season works, practice, and fundraising. Thanks, Coach Jackson

Reminder that Dead Period is
June 25h - July 9th.

The KHSAA (Kentucky High School Athletic Association) dead period is a mandatory two-week break in the summer for all high school and middle school sports and activities, from June 25 at 12:01 AM through July 9 at 11:59 PM. During this time, there is no contact between coaches and student-athletes, no practices or workouts, and no use of school facilities for athletic purposes.

We will have a parent meeting July 10th in the cafeteria at Great Crossing High School at 5:30. Anyone who has a student who is interested in trying out for the boys golf team should try to attend. Tryouts will be held July 15th and 16th. Players must attend both tryout dates. There will not be any alternate or private tryouts. Tee times will begin at 4:00 at Cherry Blossom Golf Club. Please arrive early enough to check in and warm up. Physicals must be completed and turned in to me prior to tryouts. What a great couple of days in Bowling Green for the Boys State Golf Tournament. Tough competition, tough course, and some of the toughest greens around. We couldn’t be more proud of the way Brady battled for 2 days and represented GC Warhawks! Great job Brady!
