Feature Race

Wyatt started 5th. He tucked up behind John Mollick at the drop of the green to follow him through the front starters and was battling for 3rd, but got closed out by Gale and ended up being shuffled back to 5th. It took a couple laps, some skillful moves, and one heck of a slide job and he was in 3rd behind Gale Ruth & John Mollick.

Now, Gale is a veteran driver and has a great car (he won last night's race at Tri City Raceway Park - congrats on that win sir). It took patience and Wyatt returning to his beloved high line for him to find the opening he had been working for. He overtook 2nd, but Gale didn't go down without a fight and stayed right there with him for several laps. I could be wrong, but it looked like he was even shrinking the gap Mollick had established.

We are finally on the right track of the set-up and what adjustments are needed to accommodate the changing track through the night.

Next week we'll be at Sharon Speedway on Saturday night. Come out to the track! Be sure to be early if you have kids and check out Willy's World!

I know ya'll have heard me talk and seen me post about Hobbs Tire & Automotive 100 times already this season... Now it's time to recognize the man behind the business!

Meet John Hobbs, II. U.S. Army veteran, nuclear engineer, friend, and all around great guy!

Jason has known John for a while, he was even a neighbor years ago. When seeking out sponsorships for this season, we stopped into a new shop that opened on Rt. 30 in Chester, WV because, why not right?

Even though his shop just opened earlier this year and he didn't have an established customer base, he decided to take a chance and support the dream of a young Sprint Car driver and we can't thank him enough!

He joined us in the pits tonight Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway and jumped right in to help change Wyatt's tire before the feature!

Heat Race #1

Wyatt started 3rd. He was right there with the front pack for the first few laps. By lap 3 he said he could feel his right rear tire losing pressure and considered going into pits for a split second. He ultimately stayed out to finish the heat race, with a flat right rear tire, and still managed to secure 3rd and not lose too much ground on Gale Ruth, Jr.

Turns out, he ended up with a small hole in that tire. Have to give another shoutout to our sponsor, John Hobbs Hobbs Tire & Automotive. The spare we had in the trailer has some races on it and he didn't like that so he went to the Hoosier trailer here at the track and got Wyatt a new right rear. We truly are blessed with our sponsors this year and can't thank John enough for the support and encouragement he's given Wyatt so far!

Only the top 2 from each heat were in the redraw, so Wyatt will start the feature 5th.

Hot Laps

We got 10 cars here at PPMS tonight. I know a couple more that would have been here if they hadn't had some bad luck last night. (Zachary Morrow, we are so glad you're ok & can't wait to see you & Tim Phillips back at the track!)

Wyatt ran 2nd quickest time in hot laps behind John Mollick. He's starting 3rd in the 1st heat after the pill draw. I can't wait to see how the heat goes because he loves racing here & always has a blast on the "Monster 1/2 Mile"!
