I sense something brewing below the skin of this world. Something ancient and intentional. Something that remembers Earth in it's infancy. Something that existed before us, and knows it will after.
It's the same feeling you get when you watch the sky grind it's teeth before a tornado. The slow swirling of dark gray clouds ball themselves into a fist. The air goes thick like the world forgot to exhale. I'm afraid but I can't leave. My intuition knows nature is about to bear down on me with Carpathian vengeance. Every calcium deposit in my bones is filing a formal complaint, but my eyes can't veer from the churning violence that crawls this way. I stand there like an idiot in church as the sky assembles it's weapon in obscenely intimate slow motion. Reckoning is inbound.
That feeling lives again. I know it's here. I sense the presence of a thing I can't explain. I can’t name it. I can’t explain it. But I recognize it the way my scars recognize the blade.
We’ve met before, haven’t we?
Before memory. Before the first lie we told ourselves about who we are.
You’re in me. I’m in you. Pieces traded somewhere in the dark before I learned how to speak.
Whatever is coming didn’t show up to visit.
It showed up to change everything.
That’s its only job.
So stay.
Stay and watch with me.
And if we’re lucky...
if the sky doesn’t finish what it started...
maybe we all survive the show.
