Can’t say enough how proud I am of these boys. They did not play well on Saturday and let’s just say I let them know they can be better. Sunday morning we all made a commitment to each other that no matter if we won or lost, every member on the team was giving 100% on the field and in the dugout. Boy did they respond. Best baseball we have played in weeks. All 12 members of this team absolutely contributed big time. Bats were on fire, ex*****on of hit and runs and bunts was near perfect, defense making almost every single routine play and then some ESPN eligible highlights, and pitching was on point like normal. We don’t need 12 superstars, we need 12 boys committed to being a team, doing their job and playing their role to the best of their ability, and playing for each other. That’s what we showed on Sunday! Couldn’t be prouder! 💣

Happy 10th Birthday to Martin, one of the toughest utility players around! ⚾🔥

Whether he’s behind the plate as our catcher, dealing on the mound, locking things down at shortstop, or crushing the ball with his hot bat — he always shows up ready to compete. His passion for the game, hustle, and love for baseball shine every single time he steps on the field.

Keep working hard, playing with heart, and doing what you love! đź’Ł

Happy 10th Birthday to Rhett! ⚾🔥

Our amazing second baseman, dependable pitcher, and one of the strongest bats in the lineup — Rhett brings talent, hustle, and heart to the field every game. Whether he’s making big plays in the infield, throwing strikes on the mound, or crushing the ball at the plate, he always gives it his all.

We’re proud to keep watching you grow as a player. Keep working hard! 💣🩵🖤

Great weekend for these boys up in Burleson finishing 2nd at the Perfect Game Cinco de Mayo Super Regional NIT. They earned the number 1 seed going into Sunday and battled to the ship. They went up against a great DK National team again and came up just short. Both coaches said it is a dog fight when these two teams play. They know the adjustments they have to make to beat a team like that and they are ready to go back to work. Very proud of these boys. Keep grinding! đź’Ł

Another great weekend for these boys. Played through wet weather and showed signs of how a great team operates even not playing in great conditions or their best. Walked away as top 4 in the Lone Star State Super Regional NIT only losing in a 6 inning battle to a talented DK National team 4-2 in a great played game. DK had one extra hit that decided the game, but otherwise great baseball being played by both teams. Another great team effort with everyone contributing.

Congrats to Cam Tutor and Rhett Saldana for both hitting their first over the fence Home Runs. đź’Ł

Now we take a couple weeks off to get better at a couple areas and hopefully get back healthy before we head to Burleson for the Cinco de May Super Regional NIT.

Great baseball was played this weekend. We constantly challenge these boys and they continue to prove they can handle it. They finished 2nd in Perfect Game 10U AAA only losing in ship to a very talented 1836 Roughriders Dohrman team. They went pitch for pitch with them up in the game early and then losing 5-4 in a battle to the end.

Our pitching was absolutely incredible this weekend. Starters Brandt Pullin, Everett Turner, and Rhett Saldana set the tone going 6.2, 6.0 and 4 innings, respectively, in the starts they made. These starters gave up a combined 4 earned runs in 16.2 innings pitched with a 15 to 4 strikeout to walk ratio. Then our relievers did exactly what their role is and came in and closed things out. Amazing job by Garrison Struhall, Cam Tutor, Alek Diaz and Martin Villalobos. Dominance on the mound. Just amazing pitching by 9 year olds playing up in 10U.

But pitchers don’t do it alone. Their catchers help them so much. Shout out to the backstops that do it all and get no credit. Garrison Struhall, Martin Villalobos and Alek Diaz. The blocks and caught stealings were amazing these weekend.

We build our team on defense first and I could highlight everyone here for making an amazing play, but outfielders Mat Benavidez, Wyatt Turner and Christian Maffey deserve to be highlighted on their own. On Saturday, Mat made a running diving catch in left field that the crowd went crazy over. Then Christian and Wyatt went back to back diving catches in left and right field in the first bracket game with runners in scoring position. Without those plays, the score is much different. Then Wyatt added one more that would have certainly been a top play on SportsCenter. Full out Superman catch.

Haven’t even touched on hitting because our defense was so good. But everyone crushed the ball this weekend. Makes pitching and defense easier when you have bats that our averaging 7 runs a game. Landry Brown has stepped up huge while injured and not being able to throw. He hit .600 on the weekend with huge clutch hits moving into the lead off spot. Couldn’t be prouder of him and the “coach role” he has assumed on defense encouraging all the boys and helping them get ready until he gets back on the field defensively.

But even as great as they are, they have fun doing it together. So proud of each and every one of them. Champions and Finalist in back to back 10U tournaments! Keep rolling!

Bracket game was such a heart break today. Back and forth all game, both teams playing great baseball. Last inning 2 outs tying run on 3rd. Go for the steal of home and Landry slides in safe but umpire calls it differently. It was very clear he was safe, but that’s baseball and unfortunately we don’t have challenges like the pros do. We are so proud of these boys as they all contribute. They finished pool play as the 5 seed in Top 12 Gold Bracket (out of 48 team 9U Majors tournament). No doubt they earned their spot as top 12 in this national tournament and showed why they are nationally ranked.

Everyone contributes. Here are some things each player did this 3 day tournament.

Wyatt Turner-no fly zone outfield play. At least 5 fly balls ran down by Wyatt. We lost count! We all knew if it was hit anywhere near Wyatt he had it!

Everett Turner-.875 batting average for tournament with 4 RBIs. Also pitched 3 great innings throwing his new slider several times during the 2 games. Fun to watch!

Brandt Pullin- great pitching against a great hitting team in pool game 2. Set a new in game velocity PR of 58 MPH a couple times and game average of 55 MPH which was in the top of hardest pitchers of weekend! Also great 1B play with 2 diving/jumping catches.

Landry Brown- came in game 1 pitching unexpectedly and shut them down for 2 innings. Proves why coaches call him a gammer! No fear! Also had a .571 batting average for tourney.

Martin Villalobos-. 700 batting average on tourney with 6 RBI and tons of clutch hits. Also dominate behind plate with several caught stealings and pitched awesome 3 innings in pool play game 4.

Cam Tutor- had to miss Saturday, but came in on Sunday big time. Pitched awesome 2 innings that were dominant.

Rhett Saldana- hit very well all weekend with some great hits and stellar 2B play. Came in to pitch when we needed him to settle things down in bracket play and gave us 3 very good innings to keep us in game and going back and forth! Clutch play!

Alek Diaz- Came back Sunday to give us the start in pool game 3 after pitching a little Saturday and gave us exactly what we needed. Shut down an opponent and allowed our bats to get hot. He was a clutch bat himself with 3 RBIs.

Garrison Struhall- great catching all tournament and he had several caught stealing himself. Hot bat in the lead off spot with a .500 average.

Christian Maffey- We call him Speedy for a reason. Laid down a perfect bunt to start a rally and so close to beating out a second. Took a perfect play by defense to get him. But he doesn’t just bunt, hit a bomb to center field for a big hit in pool play.

Mat Benavidez- strong at bats all tournament. Took pitchers to 5-6 pitches almost every at bat and crushed one to center gap to keep a rally going.

Alex Rivero- was so thankful to have Alex this weekend. Clutch pitching in second pool play game and a strong bat all weekend hitting with a .778 average. Played all over the field for us when we had some injuries and stepped up.

This is a TEAM True and true. 💣⚾️Their hearts were hurting for a bit after this morning, but we couldn’t be prouder of their performance! They represented the Bombers well. Back to the grind this week and a couple weekends off to fine tune some things then we are back at it March 21.
