ESSL Fall Season Update

A few quick updates as we continue through the fall season:

Sideline Seating: ESSL has updated its seating guidelines this season. Spectators may be seated on both sides of the team bench, but please leave appropriate space around the player/team area. Coaches will determine bench placement at each field. See the graphics below for examples.

Schedules & Website: ESSL's new website is being built out and Genoa teams have been entered. The league is waiting for all districts to complete this process before schedules and results can be fully updated. We appreciate everyone's continued patience!

As always, please help us create a positive environment for our players by demonstrating good sportsmanship and allowing the kids to learn, compete, and have fun.

Thank you for representing Genoa Soccer well this season. Go Comets!

🚨 Volunteer Help Needed – Soccer Camp Break Station! ⚽️🧃👕

We’re excited to welcome 70+ players to our U8–U14 Soccer Camp this Friday, July 31st!

📍 One area we could really use help with is during the 10:30–11:00 a.m. break. Players will rotate by division (BU8, GU8, BU10, etc.) through the shirt / drink / snack station, and we need a few awesome volunteers to:

✅ Hand out 1 drink + 1 snack to each player
✅ Use a checklist to distribute camp shirts to those who registered in time
⏰ Ideal timeframe to help: 10:15–11:15 a.m.
📅 Date: Friday, July 31st
📍 Location: Genoa Elementary Pavilion

🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ If you’re already planning to stay or have a free hour, we’d love your help!

👉 Comment below, send us a message, or email us at [email protected] if you’re available.

Thanks for making this event special for our players! 💙⚽️

⚽ Fall Soccer Update ⚽

Coaches received their team rosters this weekend and have been asked to contact families by Sunday, August 2.

📅 U8-U14 teams may begin practices anytime in August, with most starting around mid-August. U4 and U6 will typically begin closer to September to allow time for those fields to be prepared. Please be patient as fields are lined and porta potties are delivered.

📋 Coaches (U8-U14) will receive game schedules after the ESSL Scheduling Meeting on August 15. As a reminder, U4 is an instructional program and does not play organized games.

📧 If you have not heard from your coach by the end of next weekend, please email [email protected] beginning Monday, August 3.

Thanks for your patience as we get the fall season underway. We look forward to seeing everyone on the fields! ⚽❤️🖤

⚽ U8–U14 Uniform Reminder - ACTION NEEDED! ⚽

Please check your email and look for the following email. If your player purchased the new uniform kit last season, you do not need to order again. These kits are expected to be used through Fall 2028.

👕 Only players who did not purchase a kit last season need to order.
⏳ Please note that YM and YL uniforms are currently on backorder, so place your order ASAP to allow time for delivery before games begin at the end of August.

✅ Required: Jersey & Shorts
⚫ Optional: Black socks (you can buy these locally or on Amazon instead)

Questions about sizing, shipping, or orders? Please contact soccer.com directly.

We hope to have rosters to coaches in the next 1-2 weeks so families can be contacted. U4-U6 divisions do not need to order uniforms as their registration cost covers their t-shirt jersey for the season. Thanks, and we look forward to seeing everyone on the field soon! ⚽❤️🖤
