Congratulations Marley! You deserve it more than anything!
This week we are recognizing Volleyball.
A big CONGRATS to Marley Mollenhauer!
She was nominated by Coach Ryan Sinift who shared: Marley is everything a coach would want a student athlete to embody. She is dedicated, a hard worker, always present, a leader, a great example to the younger players and a great communicator. She is a fierce competitor, who simultaneously displays exemplary sportsmanship. Marley is very skilled in her craft as the teams Libero. As a Libero she is able to be a constant presence on the court through all six rotations. Serving is yet another area she excels. Currently, she is battling for the team lead in serving aces, with 38. Earlier this season, Marley broke the season record for digs, which was 248. This record stood for 21 years. She currently has 305 and counting, which has her in first place in the very competitive Northern Buckeye Conference. She is also on pace to break the career digs record of 641, with only needing 6 more to accomplish this goal. Yet another record well within her ambitious reach, is the season serve receive percentage of 90%, she is currently holding steady at 92%. However, she would be the first to tell you, of all the personal accolades, the most important is that she is 1 of a group of 6 seniors who have fought extremely hard to bring back pride and a winning attitude to Genoa Comet Volleyball and that none of the personal goals are obtainable without the team. The Senior group she is part of will get to double digit wins for the first time in 14 seasons. Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not mention that this stellar athlete also excels in the classroom and in the community. Congratulations Marley, the team is very proud of you and thankful to have you as a teammate!
Marley also has the following sports achievements:
4 year Varsity Volleyball. 2023 Honorable Mention District Division III. Holds the record for most digs in a season, with 305 and counting, previous record of 248 stood for 21 years.
Marley is the daughter of Nate and Jeanette Mollenhauer. Congratulations, Marley!
