🎬 BTS at Uplift: The Art of the Turn

This month, we're building on our Back to Basics focus and TURNing things up! 🔄
Chainés. Pivots. Piqués. Pirouettes.

While turns may look like a quick spin across the floor, there's so much more happening behind the scenes.
✨ Balance to stay centered.
✨ Control to manage momentum.
✨ Strength to support the body.
✨ Grace to make movement look effortless.
✨ Precision in every step and position.
✨ Posture to keep everything aligned.
And those skills? They don't appear overnight. They're built through repetition, corrections, practice, and a willingness to try again.

At Uplift, we're not just teaching dancers how to turn. We're helping them understand how to move with purpose.
Because beautiful dancing starts with the basics. ❤️

We're offering **two adult tap options** on Wednesdays, October 14 & 28:

BEGINNING TAP
6:30–7:10 PM
**$30 for both October classes**

BEGINNING / INTERMEDIATE TAP
7:15–8:00 PM
**$30 for both October classes**

Choose ONE class time — $30 covers both October 14 & October 28 classes in that time slot.

No tap experience? Start with Beginning!
Have some previous tap experience? Join us for Beginning/Intermediate!

💜 MEET MISS SAM!💜

We’ve spent this week getting to know the amazing teachers and assistants who help make Uplift what it is… and today, it’s my turn!

I’m Miss Sam — owner, director, teacher, choreographer, costume organizer, email sender, occasional tech support 😂, and so many other things behind the scenes at Uplift Dance Studio.

But more than anything, I’m someone who really believes in what dance can do for everyone.

I started Uplift because I wanted to bring quality dance education to our community while creating a place where dancers can build confidence, learn discipline, work hard, have fun, and feel like they belong. ❤️

One of my favorite parts of owning Uplift is watching a dancer walk through the door unsure of themselves… and slowly watching them find their confidence.

And honestly? I couldn’t do this without the incredible people standing beside me.

Teryn. Emmie. Alyssa. And the rest of our Uplift team. 💜

Each person brings something different to our studio, and that is exactly what makes our team special. I’m incredibly grateful for the way they show up for our dancers and help make Uplift feel like OUR STUDIO, not just mine.

So instead of sharing a bunch of facts about me today, I want to know:

💜 MEET MISS ALYSSA!💜

Continuing our **Meet the Uplift Team** week, today we’re introducing one of the friendly faces helping our youngest dancers shine! ✨

Miss Alyssa assists with our **Tiny Tutus & Tap and Stars classes**, and she loves getting to watch our dancers simply have fun! 💕

A few things you might not know about Miss Alyssa…

🦦 Cats or dogs? Neither! She’s allergic. 😂 She prefers aquatic animals!
🌎 Dream vacation: Anywhere she can experience beautiful architecture, nature, and historic places
🎬 Fun fact: When Frozen II*came out, she begged her parents to take her to the opening-night showing… and they did! ❄️

And her advice to our dancers?

✨ Relax! Dance is supposed to be fun. ✨

Bring a mindset of enjoyment to class and remember to enjoy each class along the way—not just the recital.💜
