Mid-week… so how are you doing with this week’s Summer Self Care Series? It’s easy when the sun is out shining to feel you need to push harder. Go-go-go. Do more. But as today’s rain falls on the flowers and the grass, so does this rain fall upon you and your need to restore for the day of sunshine that’s ahead. Two can exist in one week. Even in one day. The sun energizes you. The sundown and stars restore you. Same goes for your yoga practice. Take a peek at the website and blog about how one pose can be energizing AND restorative. Just like in our lives.

✨ The 8th Limb of Yoga: Samadhi ✨

If you’ve been following along with our series on the 8 Limbs of Yoga, we’ve reached the final limb: Samadhi.

Samadhi is often translated as enlightenment, but don’t let that word intimidate you.

It’s not something you achieve after one yoga class, one meditation session, or even one perfect downward dog. In fact, Samadhi isn’t really a destination you “arrive” at. It’s more like moments of deep peace, connection, clarity, and presence that develop through a lifetime of practice.

Many of us first discover yoga through asana (the physical poses), but traditional yoga offers a much bigger path. Each limb helps us build awareness, compassion, focus, and balance—both on and off the mat.

The beauty of Samadhi is that it reminds us that yoga is about more than touching our toes or mastering a pose. It’s about becoming more connected to ourselves, to others, and to the present moment.

So be patient with yourself. The goal isn’t perfection. The practice is the path.

And sometimes, in a quiet breath, a peaceful savasana, or a moment of gratitude, you may catch a glimpse of exactly what yoga has been guiding you toward all along. 💜

If yoga feels like something you do on the mat… this might change that.

The second limb, Niyama, from Patanjali, is about your relationship with yourself.

It’s how you speak to yourself.
How you care for yourself.
How you show up when no one’s watching.

✨ Try this:
Do one small, intentional act of self-care today—and treat it like part of your practice.

That’s Niyama.
That’s yoga. 🖤
