We had six members from our club attend this yearโs ๐๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ, and they had an incredible week full of learning, laughter, and growth.
A huge thank you to ๐๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ ๐ก๐๐ซ ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฒ, along with ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฒ ๐๐ข๐ง๐ and ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ข ๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ๐ฐ๐จ๐จ๐, for hosting and teaching such an outstanding camp experience.
Throughout the week, campers explored a wide range of hands-on ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ฌ๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ๐ข๐๐ฌโlike how it feels for a horse to travel in a slant load trailer versus forward-facing, why safety chains are crossed on a bumper pull hitch, and how to estimate a horseโs age using Galvayneโs Groove. They practiced checking pulse and respiration before, during, and after work intervals, discussed why some horses become inverted, and worked on schooling ring etiquette.
๐๐ข๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ included mounted gymnastics, ground pole exercises to shorten and lengthen strides, obstacle courses, games, and a polocrosse demonstration. Campers also had the unique opportunity to participate in a pistol safety and shooting lesson, adding another layer of focus and discipline to their experience.
