Genesee Rebels Take Lead And Never Look Back In Win Over Dousman Frogs

Genesee Rebels won big over Dousman Frogs 12-6 on Sunday at Genesee - Town Hall Park.
Dousman Frogs got on the board in the first inning after Foster Engelhardt doubled, scoring one run.
Genesee Rebels took the lead in the bottom of the first. Max Mullane doubled, scoring two runs, to give Genesee Rebels the edge, 2-1.
Dousman Frogs jumped into the lead in the top of the second when Elijah Shevey singled, scoring one run, Cooper Pease drew a walk, scoring one run, and Marc Jones singled, scoring two runs.
Mike Balistreri homered to center field, which helped Genesee Rebels tie the game at six in the bottom of the seventh.
Genesee Rebels took the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning after Dousman Frogs committed an error, James Smith singled, Alex Vogt singled to center field, Bret Dapser walked, Balistreri walked, and TJ Pfaffle hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
Connor Nolen earned the win for Genesee Rebels. The pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking five. Matt Brissette took the loss for Dousman Frogs. The hurler went one inning, surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on six hits, striking out none and walking two. Erik Tiegs stepped on the bump first for Genesee Rebels. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and six runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking three. Andrew Muffler stepped on the hill first for Dousman Frogs. The hurler gave up seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking none.
Genesee Rebels tallied 13 hits in the game. Balistreri drove the middle of the lineup, leading Genesee Rebels with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Mullane and Vogt each collected three hits for Genesee Rebels. Logan Gronewold collected two hits for Genesee Rebels in four at bats. Genesee Rebels turned one double play in the game.
Dousman Frogs collected 11 hits in the game. Jones provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Dousman Frogs with two runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Pease and Donovan Brandl each collected multiple hits for Dousman Frogs. Pease paced Dousman Frogs with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game. Dousman Frogs turned one double play in the game.
