🤼‍♂️ Dutchtown Wrestling Takes on Deep South Nationals! 🤼‍♀️

What a weekend for Dutchtown Wrestling as 7 of our wrestlers traveled to Birmingham, AL to compete at the Deep South Nationals Duals & Individual Tournament! They competed against some of the toughest competition from across the region.

We’re incredibly proud of every athlete who stepped on the mat, battled through each match, and represented Dutchtown Wrestling with determination, toughness, and sportsmanship. 💪

Whether competing in the Duals or the Individual Tournament, the following wrestlers gained valuable experience, challenged themselves, and continued to grow both on and off the mat:

Brody Brignac
Dierks Troegel
Nour Maree

Special congratulations to Deep South Queen, Lilly Johnson, who went 14-1 for the entire weekend. Wrestling at 120lbs, Lilly went undefeated in Individuals, earning her the crown! She went on to dominate in both Folkstyle & Freestyle Duals by becoming a 2x All-American losing only once against a tough competitor (Freestyle). 🥇👑

Wade Kersten, wrestling at 165lbs went 13-3 for the weekend placing 3rd in the Individual competition with a 6-1 record. Wade also dominated in Folkstyle Duals with a 7-2 record.🥉

Josiah Stewart, wrestling at 215lbs went 7-2 at Duals, just shy of All-American Status, but WOW…what a performance! 😱

Competing at an event like Deep South Nationals is about more than wins and losses — it’s about getting valuable mat time, learning from every match, identifying areas to improve, and building confidence. This experience will help our wrestlers prepare for the upcoming season and be ready for the challenges ahead. 💜

A huge thank-you to our coaches, parents, families, and supporters who helped make the trip possible and continue to support Dutchtown High Wrestling !

Way to go Coach Shake! 💜 ⚾️

With tonight’s 3–1 victory over Sulphur, Head Coach Chris “Coach Shake” Schexnaydre secured the 450th win of his distinguished baseball career. A well-earned milestone and a testament to his leadership and dedication to the program. Congratulations Coach, we’re proud to have you leading Dutchtown Baseball.
