Our ballfield’s namesake, Bill Walsh, will be celebrated and honored tonight, tomorrow, and in all the years ahead. His legacy will continue to live on with every inning played. ⚾️

Please keep the Walsh family in your thoughts and prayers as they remember and celebrate the life of their dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa, Bill Walsh. We trust that Bill is now at peace in God’s loving embrace, with his wife Lorraine, and we pray that the Lord surrounds the Walsh family with comfort, strength, and peace during this time.

Bill was a true blessing to the Ga***rd community, a devoted field keeper, and a steward of the game of baseball whose love and dedication will live on for generations. We are grateful for the countless ways he shared his God-given gifts, especially through the care and memories he created at Walsh Field.

Yesterday’s 2nd Annual Islanders Open was a hole-in-one of a day! ☀️⛳️ Huge thanks to all the players, volunteers, and sponsors who made it possible.

Talk about a finish! We had a 3-way tie for 1st place with teams shooting an incredible 15 under par. The championship came down to tie-breakers on the 4th and 5th handicap holes—golf doesn’t get much closer than that!

From sunshine to smiles, it was all about making memories with family and friends—that’s what this tournament is all about. We can’t wait to see everyone back on the course for the 3rd Annual Islanders Open in 2026!

We Made It, Islanders Fans! 🏝️

Nine days. Three weekends. Countless memories.

Many teams arrived, and only three were crowned champions:
• Class A – Miesville Mudhens
• Class B – Delano Athletics
• Class C – Pierz Lakers

On behalf of the Ga***rd Islanders Board, we want to give a massive thank you to every single volunteer who gave their time, energy, and heart over these past three weekends. This tournament would not have been possible without you. Whether you worked one shift or were there from open to close every day—you made it happen.

We’d also like to thank the Minnesota Baseball Association for believing in our joint bid back in 2021 and awarding us the honor of co-hosting this year’s Town Ball Tourney 2025 alongside Brownton Bruins Baseball, the Hutch Huskies, and the Glencoe Brewers.

Now that the dust has settled and the final pitch has been thrown, it’s time for some well-earned rest. We hope to see many of you during next season—or the next time the Islanders help host the State Amateur Baseball Tournament.
