🐊💚 A Panther has entered the Swamp! 💚🐊

Please join us in giving a huge Lady Gator welcome to our newest Assistant Softball Coach, Coach Khadijah Henson! We are beyond excited to have her join our Gator family, and we know she is going to make an incredible impact on our program.

Coach Khadijah brings an impressive softball background, having played at Meridian Community College and Bishop State Community College, where she earned All Conference honors at both institutions. Her experience, competitive spirit, and passion for developing athletes make her an outstanding addition to our coaching staff.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Policy and Administration and a Master’s degree in Business Administration, but her greatest passion is investing in young people. Coach Khadijah believes in developing the whole athlete by teaching discipline, confidence, teamwork, accountability, and character, values that align perfectly with the culture we are building within Lady Gator Softball.

When she’s not on the field, Coach Khadijah enjoys cheering on her two amazing boys at their sporting events, expressing her creativity through hairstyling, making memories with family and friends, and taking time to recharge.

We are incredibly grateful to welcome Coach Khadijah to The Swamp and cannot wait to see the energy, leadership, knowledge, and heart she will bring to our student athletes. The future is bright, and we are excited to watch our Lady Gators grow under her leadership.

🐊Coaching Staff Announcement🐊

Keisha Keyes joins the Gautier High School softball program as an assistant coach, bringing years of leadership and dedication to student-athletes.

Coach Keyes is entering her 10th year at Gautier High School and currently serves as the school’s Athletic Coordinator and Family and Consumer Sciences teacher. She is also entering her 8th year coaching volleyball, her 7th year as Head Volleyball Coach, where she has made a lasting impact on both the program and the student-athletes she serves.

In addition to her volleyball responsibilities, this year marks her first season working with
the flag football program as well.

Coach Keyes holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration. Her passion for education, leadership, and athletics makes her a tremendous asset to the Lady Gators softball program.

🐊COACHING STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT🐊

Coach Drewnae Pickens enters her second season as an assistant coach with the Lady Gators Softball program. A graduate of Resurrection Catholic High School, she continued her softball career at East Central Community College on scholarship before earning her bachelor’s degree in Recreational Therapy from the University of South Alabama.

Coach Pickens is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Child and Family Sciences at The University of Southern Mississippi and is expected to graduate in December 2026. She is excited to continue helping Lady Gators student-athletes grow and succeed both on and off the field. 🥎🐊

🐊💙💛 Gautier High School is proud to announce Coach Ian Story as the Interim Head Softball Coach of the Lady Gators!💛💙🐊

Coach Story enters his first season leading the program after serving as an assistant coach for the past two years, making this his third year with the Lady Gators. His dedication, passion for the game, and commitment to developing student-athletes have already made a lasting impact on our program.

Beyond the softball field, Coach Story serves as an English teacher at Gautier High School, where he is equally committed to inspiring and supporting students in the classroom. His leadership reflects the values of hard work, accountability, and excellence that define the Lady Gators.

As he steps into this new role, Coach Story is excited to build a culture rooted in discipline, growth, teamwork, and Gator pride. We look forward to an exciting season under his leadership and can’t wait to see what the future holds for our program.

Today’s Lady Gators Softball banquet may have been a little unconventional, but honestly… it was exactly what this team needed. 💙🥎💛

From our kickball water slide game (or water slide kickball… however you want to say it 😂), to crawfish, barbecue, nonstop laughs, and genuinely great energy, today was all about celebrating these girls, building stronger bonds, and making memories together outside of the field.

Sometimes team building does not happen during practice or games. Sometimes it happens while sliding into mini pools, laughing until your stomach hurts, sharing meals, and simply enjoying each other’s company. And today was full of that.

A huge thank you to Killer Crab & Seafood for always being such an amazing partner and supporter of our program. Your continued support means more than you know.

And thank you to Gautier First United Methodist for your kindness, partnership, and support of our girls as well.

So thankful for this team, this community, and the memories we are making together. 💙💛🥎
