Stop assuming your lower back hurts because there's something wrong with your lower back.
I know... that's where it hurts. It makes sense to think that's where the problem is. But pain and the source of the problem are often two different things.
Your lower back is connected to your pelvis, and your pelvis is the attachment point for several major muscle groups—including your quads, hip flexors, hamstrings, glutes, and more.
When muscles like your quads or hip flexors become tight, they pull on your pelvis. That changes its position and forces your lower back to compensate. Instead of your hips moving the way they're supposed to, your lower back ends up doing extra work.
Over time, that constant compensation can lead to:
• Lower back tightness
• Aching or stiffness
• Muscle spasms
• Pain when standing, bending, or walking
Here's the important part...
Just because you feel pain in your lower back doesn't automatically mean your lower back is the problem.
The body is one connected system. Tightness or restrictions in one area often create pain somewhere else.
If you only focus on the area that hurts, you may get some relief—but if you never address the muscles that are creating the problem, the pain is likely to keep coming back.
That's why I don't just treat where it hurts. I look for what's causing your body to compensate in the first place.
Don't chase the pain. Find the cause.
Your body will thank you for it.
