We are excited for our first Kids Promotion Day! As a newer academy, less than a year into our program, it is amazing to see the growth in such a short time that the students have been making.

We are excited to acknowledge some of those developments and some of the students who are due for a stripe or belt promotion. Please join us for some live training, promotions, and celebratory pizza!

We had an awesome time at the Newbreed Competition this past weekend. Wins and losses are definitely a part of competing, and we had a good day of results.

But, it’s so much more important than that. The group of people, the moments of families coaching and competing alongside each other from parents and their kids to siblings competing. Teammates coming out to support each other, helping each other warm up, and the fun stuff in between the chaos of competing.

Great times. We look forward to many more as an academy!

We are so proud of the students who entered the Newbreed competition yesterday! We had 12 competitors who walked away with 15 medals (9 Gold, 5 Silver) and went 26-10 in their matches!

We are just 10 shorts months into our journey as an academy. Competition is just one small part of BJJ, but recently people had been asking about trying it out.. and wow!

Our main focus has been and will always be having a fun atmosphere with good people who LOVE jiu jitsu. We always say “we take Jiu Jitsu serious (like the techniques) but not ourselves.” But when you train with intent and are having fun… results usually follow. A lot of fun was had and a ton of support was shown!

While there’s quite a few members in the picture, it’s the mat room full of teammates who made Yesterday’s competition results possible, as well as the support of their parents, spouses, grand parents, siblings, friends, etc. all coming out to cheer and support- so cool to see!

Whether you’re an upper belt refining something you already know, or newer to Jiu Jitsu learning a concept for the first time, you can’t do it without a good training partner.

One of the things we love seeing from our Fundamentals Program is how quickly newer students become comfortable training with people of all experience levels and belt ranks after completing it and moving into advanced class.

After just a few months of building a strong foundation and learning the important concepts of Jiu Jitsu, they’re ready to jump into the room, get rounds with anyone, and keep learning!

Our 3 Competition Training practices leading up to next weekend are officially in the books. And judging by the turnout and energy on the mats, it’s pretty clear this is something our students want.

Another great group on the mats today putting in the work. Great job by everyone.

Starting after next weekend’s competition, Competition Training will become a regular part of our schedule — just at a new time.

Our biggest kids class to date yesterday, and one of the coolest things to see!

Watching a group this size train together and seeing how comfortable these kids have become on the mats is pretty awesome. They’re rolling, working through problems, asking questions, helping each other and pushing themselves to get better.

And maybe the best part, they actually want to do jiu jitsu.. live training has become their absolute favorite and what they look forward to!

Our first Saturday Competition Training was a great time!

We talked through some of the scoring and rules, competition strategies, and most importantly, got some focused work in;
Some higher pace drilling with resistance, working from bad positions, and live matches with a little more awareness of scoring and what happens when we give up points.

At the end, we talked about something just as important:

Training like this (and competing) can be a great way to challenge ourselves, but ultimately, none of it is that serious.

You don’t need to put pressure on yourself about how you perform, how you make your academy look, or any other external factors.

Work hard. Have fun. Leave better.

That’s all that matters!

Family bonding 😂

Did you know that at our academy, we have a lot of families where both the kids and parents train?

It’s awesome seeing the kids come in for their classes, then watching their parents step on the mats for their own classes afterward.

We also have plenty of teenagers who train in our adult classes alongside their parents.

It’s pretty cool when the whole family gets to learn, train, and grow together. 🥋

And yes… sometimes the 6 year old gets the tap. 😂
