⚾🥎 **WE’RE LOOKING FOR NEW BOARD MEMBERS!** 🥎⚾

The Wes-Del Youth Athletic Association (WDYAA) is growing, improving, and making a difference — and we want YOU to be part of what comes next!

The past year has been an exciting one for WDYAA. Through the hard work of our board, volunteers, families, sponsors, and an incredible community, we’ve been able to make some BIG things happen in 2026:

🏆 **2026 WDYAA Achievements**
• Received a $1,000 Rapid Grant from the George and Francis Ball Foundation
• Built valuable community and organizational networking relationships
• Received a Reds grant
• Secured nearly $11,120 in sponsorships
• Purchased a new ice machine and additional concession equipment
• Purchased an AED through generous community donations
• Installed clay brick on the Donne McGuire field
• Added a partial new fence along the Ryan Berry field and completed needed repairs
• Replaced burnt-out field light bulbs and added two new LED lights to replace the pole that was damaged
• Installed semi-permanent softball pitching mounds on both fields
• Established a new apparel brand sponsorship/partnership

And this is only the beginning. ❤️

WDYAA is about so much more than baseball and softball. It’s about giving our kids a place to play, compete, make friends, learn teamwork, build confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that continues to show up for our kids. Whether it’s through sponsorships, donations, volunteering, coaching, cheering from the stands, or simply spreading the word — **our community makes WDYAA possible.**

Now, we’re looking for additional Board Members who want to help us continue building something great for the children and families of our community.

⚠️ **One important thing to understand:** Being a board member is a commitment. It takes time, effort, ideas, teamwork, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and help get things done. This isn’t just putting your name on a list — it’s an opportunity to have a direct impact on the future of youth baseball and softball in our community.

If you’re passionate about our kids, believe in the importance of youth athletics, have ideas for making WDYAA even better, and are willing to commit your time and energy, **we want to hear from you!**

⚾ WBC TRYOUTS ⚾
Warriors Baseball Club will be holding tryouts on:

⏰ 5:30 PM
WBC is based out of the Muncie, Indiana area and will be playing tournaments throughout Central Indiana and surrounding areas.

We wanted to inform everyone that the concessions will be closed this evening! It is the very last day of the season and we are almost sold out of everything! Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!

💦With that being said, we will have coolers full of ice, water and spray bottles in each dugout! There will also be a lemonade stand 🍋

It has become necessary to address an issue that continues to surface at our ballfields.

Questioning, arguing, or berating umpire decisions is unacceptable—whether you believe the call was right, wrong, or somewhere in between.

Coming up to umpires after the game to try to justify why you were “right” or why their call was “wrong” is also unacceptable. Once the game is over, it’s over.

Our umpires are required to complete and pass training courses provided through USA Baseball before they are eligible to officiate games. They dedicate their time to our players and our community, and they deserve to be treated with respect.

Are umpires perfect? No. Just like players, coaches, and fans, mistakes can happen. Baseball is a game played and officiated by humans. However, disrespectful behavior toward officials will not be tolerated.

Let’s also remember what recreational baseball is about. No player is earning a college scholarship today. No scout is making a draft decision from today’s game. Our mission is to develop young athletes, teach the fundamentals of the game, build character, instill good habits, and create a positive environment where kids can learn and grow.

The example adults set from the stands and sidelines matters far more than the outcome of any single call.

If you believe umpiring is easy or that calls should be made differently, we encourage you to become part of the solution. We are always looking for additional umpires. Feel free to sign up—just be prepared to complete the required training and certification course.

Let’s focus on what matters most: the kids, their development, and making the game enjoyable for everyone involved.

Friendly reminder to please be kind to the concession staff. They are more often than not high school kids who volunteer their summer evenings. These kids have stepped up to help, and we would like to keep them around due to the lack of other volunteers.

We are having septic issues at the diamonds, which will be rectified on Tuesday. Due to them taking place in the evening, we were unable to get someone out there immediately to fix it. We apologize for the inconvenience.
