If we were face to face discussing my knives you would soon realize that I'm passionate about what I'm doing. I feel like I'm Sean Connery in The Medicine Man. I've been shown a secret that must be shared. I don't take credit for the beauty of this wood. God did that. I'm just a messenger.
Jesus is referred to as the rejected cornerstone several times in the Bible. I feel the same about Bodark/Hedge. There are those who use it artisticly but mostly it's purpose is firewood and fence posts.
I hope to be part of changing that perception.
I do wonder why me? I'm just an average guy. No one who knows me would say I'm an artist. But not one person who has physically seen my knives walks away without being converted. It is indeed gorgeous wood, worthy of greater status.

Sooooo it took months to realize what wood could and couldn't be used. My approach has been slow because there was a lot to learn. In fact, 90% of my first 21 cracked meaning failure. I had to rework them.
My church has started giving them to visiting Pastors. What a blessing! If this is God-inspired (as I believe it is) my wife will be able to quit her job and take care of the kids. Please pray for us.

I started with 21 blades, working 20 to 30 hours per week. I had no idea what I was in for. Probably 90% of those handles cracked meaning needed rework. By now I'm much better at determining what wood is usable. Very little failure. I love God's version of beauty!

All of my Damascus knives have things in common. 256 Layers of Carbon Steel, Super sharp, Mosaic Pins, Bodark Handle, Coated with Boiled Linseed Oil, Nice, thick leather sheath. Where they are different is how available the wood is and size of blade. These are in the less than 20 percentile with a 4" Blade and 4" handle.
