NCDOT will close West Garner Road just west of Vandora Springs Road starting around noon on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and ending around 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7. The detour, which will be marked along roadways, will be Vandora Springs Road to U.S. 70 west to Yeargan Road (the reverse if traveling eastbound).

The closure will enable crews to replace two crossline pipes to resolve a drainage problem on that section of West Garner Road. Town officials had identified the drainage problem as a potential public safety issue and reported it to NCDOT.
