This group right here...through a season of ups and downs they hung together and really lived our message that the Generals are a family.

Despite some of the drama of the season, these boys held tight, stayed committed and pushed through every obstacle to finish the season strong.

I could not be prouder of this group of boys.

It looked like we would not have a game today due to some late season departures, but last night, I put the call out far and wide. Old friends and some new friends responded, cancelled plans, came back from vacation, put on Generals uniforms and made sure our team got their last games of the season, because that's what families do. We hang together, support each other and when things look dark, we band together even stronger.

I cannot thank this group enough for letting us get our last games, our chance to say goodbye at the end of this magical season and to go out on a high note, the way we should have, grinding for every hit, every run and every out.

And congratulations to Leo Martinez for capturing the last game ball of the season. Leo is an unstoppable force on the diamond and it has always been my honor to coach him.

Congratulations to today's Game ball recipients!

In game 1, Gabe Petersen in his pitching debut for the Garner Generals, and his return from injury, pitched an inning versus a mixed D1/D2 team, only surrendering 1 run!

And also in Game 1, Derrick Seamans pitched two clean innings versus the mixed D1/D2 team giving up zero runs and striking out 3!

In Game 2, Dylan Davis, in his Generals debut, got the start on the mound, pitched fantastically and recorded two double plays where he made acrobat snags of hard line drives and then doubled runners off! Great game, Dylan.
