No Defeat in This Heat! ☀️

Gabriel Brower saw litter and decided to do something about it! In nearly 100-degree heat, Gabriel spent 10 hours cleaning Garland’s lake and greenbelt areas, removing approximately 15 bags of litter, tires, a large carpet and more.

No organized event. No big crew. Just one young volunteer taking initiative and making a BIG difference.

Way to go, Gabriel! 👏

The Bob Day Tennis Center has received a 2026 Outstanding Facility Award from the United States Tennis Association (USTA) in the Public Courts: Large Tennis Centers category!

After more than two months of deliberation, discussion and public input, the Garland City Council voted Aug. 17 to close Bradfield Recreation Center and Pool as part of the City’s Fiscal Year 2026-27 budget. Bradfield Recreation Center’s final day of operation will be the end of the current fiscal year, Wednesday, Sept. 30. The 2026 pool season at Bradfield and Holford Aquatic Center ended Aug. 9.

For many Garland residents, Bradfield is much more than a building or a pool. Since opening in 1975, it has been a place where children learned to swim, families gathered, neighbors met and generations of residents participated in camps, classes and recreation programs.
