Woah Nellie Modified Series to debut as points-paying championship in 2026

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Woah Nellie Modifieds will evolve from a slate of special events into a full points-paying racing series in 2026, officially launching as the Woah Nellie Modified Series powered by Hand Crafted Performance.

Originating as a single race — the Woah Nellie 25 — in 2023, the brand has grown to include multiple regional events promoted by Daniel Nelligan of Woah Nellie Productions.

Nelligan emphasized that the addition of the title sponsor is what helps make the expanded tour possible.

"Tyler Rendell and Hand Crafted Performance are a lot more than a sponsor," Nelligan said. "They will serve as a huge partner in the growth of this series, including acting as the base of operations at the track and consulting with us on operations from multiple different angles. Tyler has a great mind for the motorsports industry."

"We have been promoting races for this class for quite some time now, but the decision to launch a full championship comes after seeing a real need for a dedicated modified series in this region," Nelligan continued. "We want a series that will not only highlight our incredibly talented drivers, but also create lasting benefits for our partner tracks and the competitors."

For Nelligan, the transition from a handful of standalone events to a sanctioned championship is a milestone fueled by the local racing community.

"It is incredibly exciting for our team to see this grow into something we could once only dream of. With the constant support of regional drivers and tracks, it is becoming a reality in 2026," Nelligan said. "We can't say thank you enough for all the words of encouragement from everyone we told, 'We have this crazy idea.' From being just a fan in the stands a few short years ago to having this opportunity, there is an endless list of thank-yous."

The 2026 schedule features five announced races across Stateline Speedway, Bradford Speedway and PPMS. Key events on the calendar include:

The Jim Strong Classic: Hosted at PPMS, which will serve as the series debut at PPMS.

The Woah Nellie Topless Modified Weekend

The fourth annual Woah Nellie 25

Historically, only three drivers have visited Victory Lane across the nine previous Woah Nellie Modified events. Wyatt Scott holds the all-time record with five victories, while Dave Hess Jr. and Rich Michael Jr. are tied with two wins each.

To be eligible for the championship, drivers must pay a $50 entry fee to register for the points fund. The deadline to enter and retain earned points is the second race of the series. Series officials plan to announce tire rules and further regulations at a later date.

Tracks and potential sponsors interested in partnering with the series can contact Nelligan at [email protected].
