The essence of Yoga is not about perfection, not about mastering a pose, not about following a rhythm. It is about noticing…simply noticing. Listening to what my body offers today, without judgment. Slowing down enough to feel what’s really there. Beyond shapes and sequences, Yoga is mindful- being present with what I feel. Staying with sensation, drinking in my breath, moving without forcing, pausing without guilt. It’s about softening effort, staying present, moving with awareness - weather in stillness or emotion. Yoga isn’t about becoming someone else or something new. It’s about meeting myself exactly where I am on a daily basis. That’s Yoga.: Simple. Practical. No more, no less.

We welcome a New Moon in Virgo September 10th–11th 2026. This new moon brings us back to the basics. What is working? What isn’t working? What are you ready to do differently? Virgo energy is practical. It reminds us that change doesn’t always happen through one enormous leap. Sometimes it happens when we finally clean up what has become messy, change the habit that isn’t helping, create a better routine, or make one small decision that makes life feel more manageable. This is a beautiful time for setting intentions around your daily life, your work, your routines, and the way you care for yourself. Do not make a list of all the things you need to fix, but instead choose one thing that would make your life feel better if you changed it. Ask yourself, “ what am I ready to do differently? “ Set an intention. Keep it simple. Then take one practical step toward it. What are you calling in with this new moon? JOin me for Pilates this evening from 5-6pm.

Living with Intention: “ Today, I will breathe deeply before I begin my day. I will approach my tasks with gentle awareness, moving through them without attachment. I will listen with an open heart, deeper than my words, and respond with kindness. I will soften my pace when I feel the urge to rush, honoring my natural rhythm. I will create small, meaningful moments that nourish my soul. I will honor my energy and know my limits. I will seek and find beauty in the simple, ordinary moments. Today, I will live as if my time truly belongs to me, embracing each moment with presence and gratitude.” Join me for basic Yoga this evening from 5-6pm.

As yogis, we know that true wellness extends beyond the mat. The way we nourish ourselves plays a vital role in supporting our overall well-being. What is mindful eating? It’s about being fully present with each bite- tuning into how, why, and what we eat and how it makes us feel. It’s a practice that deepens self-awareness and nurtures the connection between body and mind. Key elements: pay attention to hunger and fullness cues. Engage your senses by observing the appearance, smell, texture, and flavor of your food. Begin to notice your emotional triggers and patterns around eating. Dine without distractions- no phones and no screens. Before you eat take a moment to give thanks, remembering there were many different things that had to happen and many people involved to get this nourishing food to your kitchen, and we appreciate all their hard work. Cultivate gratitude for your nourishment and a gift of food. Why does this support our yoga practice on and off the mat? Mindful eating helps regulate our nervous system- promoting relaxation and reducing stress, both on and off the mat. It enhances emotional awareness, helping us identify and honor our true needs. It supports the gut brain axis, which influences mood, clarity, and overall mental wellness. September is a time to slow down, breathe, and savor each bite- just as you do during your yoga practice. Small mindful moments during meals can deepen self-awareness and bring greater peace into your daily life. Start today by taking a deep breath before you eat, ask, “ am I physically hungry? If so, make a nourishing, colorful, blissful, nourishing meal that your body and mind will thank you for. It’s important to place your food on a plate beautifully because it makes eating more enjoyable for your eyes. When food looks nice, it helps you slow down, appreciate what you’re eating, and enjoy your meal more mindfully. Say a prayer, and then use all your senses to explore your food. Chew thoroughly, allowing digestion to begin in the mouth. Halfway through, pause and assess your fullness. Share a meal with loved ones! Nurse your body, calm your mind and honor your journey.

September is a perfect time to switch to warm, moist, gently spiced vegetables, soups, stews, and meats. Prioritize foods that strengthen digestion, hydrate tissues, and soothe the nervous system. Incorporate more root vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots, and beets-roasted with ghee and warming spices. Enjoy hardy soups and stews1 adding in lentils, chickpeas, rice, and seasonal vegetables. Cook apples and pears, then top with sprinkles of cinnamon, a tsp of fresh local honey and a few tbs of organic Greek yogurt - it work wonders for digestion. Soak grounding grains such as oats, rice, and quinoa in 2 tbs of organic yogurt before cooking them- this helps to build strength and ease digestion. Steer clear of raw salads and cold smoothies, crackers, chips, and popcorn, as they can be rough on digestion at this time of year. Cold drinks, and leftovers weaken your Agni ( digestive fire), and excess caffeine and alcohol can disturb your nervous system. Stick to lean proteins if you are a meat eater. Ayurvedic herbs and spices to support digestion, boost immunity, and ease your body into Vata season: fresh or dried ginger1 helps to prevent bloating; a pinch of nutmeg at night in warm nut milk or tea can calm the mind; cloves- stimulate digestion and support immunity; cinnamon - balances blood sugar and aids digestion,; Ashwagandha supports energy levels and promotes a sense of calm. Here are a few journaling prompts: What foods, herbs, or self-care practices, bring you a sense of warmth, comfort, and strength? How can you nurture your nervous system and support your digestion through your daily choices? Remember, mindful eating is a powerful tool to manage your wellbeing. We can talk more about that aspect tomorrow. For today, let’s embrace this season’s shift as an opportunity to root down, nourish, and prepare for the cozy months ahead. JOin me for basic yoga this evening from 5-6 pm.

Today we welcome the first day of September! Summer’s winding down, but you might still be feeling the heat- both outside and within. The season shift is subtle but sure; mornings cool off, shadows grow longer, and the air turns crisper. It’s like summer is taking a deep breath before exhaling. After months of energetic outings, indulgent treats, and outdoor adventures, your body might start signaling a need for rest and renewal. You may notice: more bloating, sluggish digestion, dry skin, brittle nails, restless nights, scattered focus, feeling ungrounded and anxious, increased inflammation, and irritability. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this is a classic Vatta - Pitta transition - summer’s internal heat blending with the dry, light qualities of early autumn. This combo can leave us feeling scattered, spacey, and a bit off balance- like leaves caught in the wind. September is the perfect time to slow down, nourish your body, and prepare for the colder months ahead. Now is the moment to ground your energy to stay balanced throughout fall. Transitions are easier when you’re rooted. Reestablished routines that have been tossed aside over the summer. Even just a few consistent anchors- such as eating meals at regular times, going to bed a little earlier, and opting for warm foods and drinks instead of cold - can make a huge difference. These simple rhythms help calm the nervous system and support digestion, so your body feels steady as the world swirls with change all around you. Let’s embrace this season’s shift as an opportunity to root down, nourish, and prepare for the cozy months ahead. Journaling prompts: What practices or habits help you to feel more grounded? Are there routines or habits from summer that you need to release or adjust as you move into fall ? What signs are you noticing in your body and mind that indicate you need more grounding and nourishment ? What intentions do you want to set for this season to help you stay balanced and connected to your inner strength ? Tomorrow we will talk about how to support your digestive system. Join me for Pilates this evening from 5-6pm.

Good afternoon Yogis, this evening, around 9:30 PM in Kansas we will experience a full moon lunar eclipse in the sign of Pisces. Pisces energy is deeply intuitive, empathetic, and spiritually sensitive, making this a powerful time for emotional awakening, release, and growth. This eclipse will bring hidden feelings and truths to the surface, allowing us to recognize what we have outgrown. The energy of this eclipse will last for six months. It’s a time to reflect on what no longer feels right, what may be causing struggle or strain in various areas of your life, and what you are birthing into existence. The moon, moving into Pisces encourages us to connect with the divine daily- whether through writing, listening to music, being in nature, serving others, or simply being present. It’s about touching the divine and whatever way resonates with you, and letting go of victimhood and illusions. This lunar eclipse is tightly squared to Uranus, the planet of truth, awakening, rebellion, and revolution. This aspect calls for a broader awareness and perspective, reminding us that evolution and ascension come through persistence, devotion, and dedicated service to humanity. The sun in Virgo emphasizes our day-to-day routines and interactions, urging us to experiment with new ways of living and connecting with the divine in ordinary activities. This is about living and grace- not just during meditation or breath work, but as a way of being every day- moving through life with gratitude, love, and a sense of purpose. I personally would encourage you to incorporate more grounded, earth connected practices into your daily life for the next six months. Jupiter and Saturn are conjunct in a rare alignment not seen since January 12, 2020. Reflect on what you have learned since then, and how you have grown. Remember, our thoughts and energy literally shape the world; focusing on positivity and love elevates our frequency and influences the whole. We change the world by changing our ourselves first. Your purpose here is not merely to make a living, but to share your light and make a meaningful difference.

Over the weekend, I attended a 10 year sobriety party that left me swimming in the deep yin waters of love for a family so full of color. Today I’d like to share the text that I send to my Soul sister- amidst the warmth and laughter of Saturday’s sobriety celebration, I was gifted a sacred glimpse into a divine tapestry of the beauty in each one of your family members. Each person, a vibrant hue in a breathtaking palette- radiated with stories, struggles, joy and laughter. In their presence, I saw the divine artistry that weaves us all together—every conversation a brushstroke, every sMile a shimmer of grace.
It made me realize how truly blessed I was - to be surrounded by such a symphony of souls, each one a vital color in the masterpiece of YOUR life. Their love, their authenticity, their unwavering spirit—these are the hues that paint YOUR world with richness and depth.
In that moment, I felt the sacred harmony of connection, the spiritual truth that we are all reflections of the divine, each of us a radiant color in the infinite canvas of existence. And I am grateful to have witnessed a piece of that divine portrait—so beautiful, so real, so full of love.
I came home feeling SO blessed!
YOU have a beautiful color palette. Join me for Pilates this evening from 5-6pm
