Home Run for Recovery

Home Run for Recovery To Benefit Coulee Recovery Center we present The "Home Run Run for Recovery" All of us have been touched in some way by addiction. Run as a group or on your own!

Mark your calendar for Sunday, September 6, 2026!

2026 brings in our 12th year of our 5K Honor Run/Walk and 10K Road Race - the only Road Race in La Crosse County - to honor those we may have lost to addiction, who are struggling in active addiction or those that are thriving in recovery! Some in their pain still trapped in the addiction cycle, others working through stages of recovery, loved on

es impacted by the effects of substance abuse and addictions, and those who are celebrating recovery. Recovery from substance use and the cycle of addiction is achievable. This run celebrates the real possibility of living a full and wholesome life free from the addiction cycle and its destructive effects; restoration of body-mind-soul and healed relationships with a hope for a bright future. Home Run for Recovery’s objectives: 1) raise awareness of what addiction is; 2) raise awareness of the Coulee Recovery Center and the resource that the agency can provide; and 3) raise funds to provide recovery support and relapse prevention programming. Home Run for Recovery will be a 5K Run/Walk, 10K Road Race and Little Leaguer's race around the bases (for young kids) or around the warning track (older kids) of the Logger's Baseball Stadium. A unique trait of this race is that all races will lead off at home plate of the Logger's Stadium, Copeland Park, La Crosse, WI. As you return "Home" the crowd can watch you cross the finish line (or slide into home plate if you so desire) like their favorite Loggers on game day. Participants in the 10K and 5K will receive a T-shirt with each registration. Stay for the little leaguers races where youth participants get free Logger's memorabilia. Races will be timed and results will be split into four categories for the top three men and women, who will be provided with an award:

ages 19 and under
20-39
40-59
60 and above

If register by August 14th you will be guaranteed the t-shirt size you registered for. Come out and support a great cause! Registration is open from Monday, June 1st to Thursday, September 3rd at midnight. Same day registration will be available at an additional cost. Registration Costs:
10K - $35*
5K - $25*
Little Leaguers Race (ages 11 and below) - FREE, just show up day of event.

*Race day cost will be an additional $5

During the race this year anyone hangin around waiting to cheer on the runnings can take part in some whiffle ball that willl be happening in the outfield at Logger Stadium - Play some ball while you wait for the Runners to return!

***Results will be provided on the Home Run page (https://www.facebook.com/homerunforrecovery) and the Home Run page (https://www.couleerecovery.org/home-run) on the Coulee Recovery Center's Website. Race bibs pick up will be on Friday, September 4th from 4-6pm at Coulee Recovery Center (933 Ferry St. La Crosse, WI) or at Logger Stadium on race day starting at 6:30am. RACE ROUTE CHANGE

Due to construction on French Island we needed to reroute both races slightly this year. We worked with the wonderful Grand Bluff Running to help us find the best possible route despite the construction. Please find the new race route maps attached.

WHIFFLE BALL

We tried to roll out playing a little whiffle ball in the outfield while waiting for runners to return last year, but we didn't promote it early enough. SO, NEW THIS YEAR - anyone hanging out waiting for runners to return, we will have equipment available to play a game of whiffle ball in the outfield. We do ask that there is someone helping watch the kids they may stick around!

We are so excited for our 12th years!

We hope to see you there!

Huge Shout out to Grand Bluff Training - due to construction on our Race Route this year we had to do some change up. They worked their magic and helped us find a new route for both the 10K and 5K - no worries we still leave from Logger Stadium and we still run on French Island....just a few changes, same great event!!!!

Love and Logic: Adults Supporting Youth with Challenging Pasts™ (Trauma Informed Care)
This curriculum is designed to cut through the complexity of these very challenging topics and provide real solutions that can be applied immediately... rather than lots of theory or abstract ideas. Step-by-step instructions are provided for each of the six modules.

Help them gain powerful insights into:

● How trauma affects the brain.
● Why the intense and extremely upsetting behaviors they see represent attempts to self-protect and survive.
● The science behind healthy attachment relationships and why such bonds form the foundation for emotional and neurological healing.
● How to apply Love and Logic strategies to take good care of themselves while addressing root causes... not just symptoms.
● Establishing healthy boundaries, avoiding destructive power struggles, overcoming defiance, and guiding these youth toward success.
● And many more skills and concepts applicable to kids who need hope.
