We do not offer "across the pond" or "internet" membership. We have have one simple REQUIREMENT to be a member.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Okinawan Karate-Do Kobudo Doukoukai (also known as “The Doukoukai”) is a small private organization that supports and governs the preservation of Matsubayashi Ryu Karate-Do in Southern California. GOALS / PURPOSE

Members of the Doukoukai are expected to study and achieved excellence as well as preserved the integrity of the traditional eighteen Matsubayashi Ryu kata, and

the Yakusoku Kumite as pure and unaltered as possible. Doukoukai members are required strict adherence to the art’s estringent technical, philosophical and moral standards without fail. You have to be physically present and train with us !

A great training session with special guests Sakura Kokumai and her friend Kevin!
Sakura Kokumai is currently on the US national team for Kata and is on her way to becoming our US representative in the 2020 Olympics for woman’s kata!
We will be supporting her in this adventure and hope to build a fan base that can root for her every step of the way!
