Gracie Barra believes that through our martial arts training, we can help anyone develop and grow his or her fighting spirit and help achieve his or her personal goals and BJJ goals. When you train BJJ, you are pushed to meet new qualities, strengths, and

weaknesses about yourself that you may have not known before. Our training sessions offer you a chance to test your limits daily and help you become the best you can possibly be. At Gracie Barra you learn how to defend yourself in combat with different techniques that focus on dealing with someone who may be bigger or stronger than you. Here we help you learn to nurture the mental strengths and various skills needed if you were ever faced with a scary scenario such as being attacked. Although during training our students refine their fighting skill sets, what most people don’t realize is that these same fighting principles apply to your daily battles of life like weight loss, self-confidence, relationships, and discipline.

Sometimes we completely break away from the class structure for big teaching moments. We were explaining to the kids that often having the ability to follow instructions, think well, trust in your instructors, and applying this process can make a huge difference, allow them to do things they didn’t know how to do yet or think they could ever do. So to prove this point we said we could teach one of the kids how to do a backflip in 3 minutes !

Mission accomplished. The kids were super excited.
