The storm has passed and the seas are slowly subsiding. Some bayside flooding and a little wind damage but the park is doing great. Centerpoint linemen did a great job getting power back to so many and still working into the night.

Dont mind us as we clean up a few things and get back in order for a hot but great looking weekend ahead.

Coastal prairies are one of Texas’ most endangered habitats - less than 1% remains - yet they’re powerhouses for wildlife, water filtration, and even carbon storage. They help our coast stay resilient in a changing climate.🌎💚

Today we’re doing our part by planting natives to help restore and protect this rare ecosystem. Hard work, big impact, unbeatable view. 💪🌱✨

Coyotes dive in for survival as much as play! The water cools them off, hides their scent, and even helps them chase a meal or cross into new territory.

Turns out the ocean’s not just for us… it’s their highway, hunting area, hideout, and playground too. 🌅🦊

These famously secretive marsh birds guide their downy chicks through cordgrass and tidal flats, teaching them how to forage, hide, and navigate the shifting tides that shape their habitat 🌿🌊

• Day‑use visitors, please use the Self-Pay Station for entrance permits.
• Campers may check in after 2 p.m.

Feel the gentle breeze on your face. Listen to the common nighthawks buzzing around. Smell the grasses and wildflowers of the prairie. Enjoy the changes of the island from day to night. Just a peaceful evening moment at the park to reset.

Great horned owls are mostly night‑shift workers, but daytime cameos happen, especially when they’re disturbed or guarding a prime perch. And, with our coastal prairie restoration efforts boosting snacks 🐭🦗, this owl’s just checking on the future dinner supply.
