Movie night on The Strand returns tonight at dusk with a showing of Hidden Figures! Released in 2017, the movie stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monáe.

Three brilliant African American women at NASA, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, serve as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history, the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world.

FREE to the public. Bring your blankets, chairs, and friends for a Galveston night under the stars at Hendley Green.

If you've spent any time at one of our sites or attractions, chances are you've interacted with one of these incredible visitor service staff members. Last week, they took some time to visit all our attractions and properties, hear firsthand about some history, and learn from one another. operates in numerous places across the island, and days like this give all of us a chance to show off what we do to the people who represent us so well. We're lucky to have every one of them with us.
