Things are shaping up for the Route 66 Desert Challenge this weekend! We would like to thank Dave Steadman with McKinley County Road Dept for grading our access road and making it buttery smooth! We also want to thank Butler's Printing for making epic banners and Steve Palacios for creating a sick t-shirt design! Attn Racers! We are postponing the Route 66 Desert Challenge due to excessive flooding! The City of Gallup OHV Mx Park has taken severe damage to all the trails and our attempts at marking a safe race course are futile at this time. We will still have our parade on Route 66 Saturday night, weather pending of course. We are looking at Aug 29th for the rescheduled date as well as creating a shorter, gran prix style, race format. Our apologies to all the racers that were slated to come to Gallup.

The Route 66 Desert Challenge name has now changed to the Route 66 River Boat Race!!! Bring your jet skis and speed boats to race our epic arroyos and Rio Puerco! Just kidding, the race is still on! Last year was the only dry year we had, other than that, it always rains when we have our desert race! It looks like we will have some Terra Firma on the mx track and arroyos! 🫨⛈️
