We’re thrilled to announce something brand new for The Hoop Project in 2025!
Thanks to the overwhelming excitement and continued growth of the event, we’re expanding — with a twist!
Mark your calendars for two epic weekends of competition:
🗓 June 7–8 – The Hoop Project returns in its traditional outdoor format at Gallipolis City Park, just as you’ve come to love.
🗓 July 19–20 – For the first time ever, we’re bringing The Hoop Project Indoors at The Root Sports & Fitness Center!
The indoor edition will feature the exact same format as the outdoor event — fast-paced, full-court 3-on-3 action, certified referees for every game, competitive divisions for all age groups, and the electric atmosphere players and fans have come to expect.

FYI: As many of you know, The Hoop Project is typically held on the third weekend of July each year. However, the City of Gallipolis has a park-front renovation project kicking off on July 1. Because of this, we were unable to host the outdoor event on our usual weekend. We just wanted to provide some insight into the reason for the date change.

Every year during The Hoop Project, we have teams that ask if we plan to host additional events throughout the year.

After discussions with our management team, we’ve decided to offer an adult 5 vs. 5 indoor basketball tournament to be held on August 17th & 18th at The Root Sports & Fitness Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.

This event will feature:
Licensed officials for every game
Three games guaranteed
Pool play with a single-elimination tournament
Men’s A, B, and C and Women’s Open Divisions
A chance to sign The Wall of Champions

Space is limited and teams will be accepted on a first-come first-serve basis.

We made it through another successful Hoop Project, and this year, without any rain delays!

There are so many individuals and businesses/organizations who come together to make this such an awesome event for our community.

We attempted to get some photos of those who were instrumental to the Hoop Project’s success. If we somehow missed you, please let us know.
