But they should never be anyone’s doormat.

Martial arts gives kids more than punches, kicks, and techniques. It teaches confidence, boundaries, discipline, and the ability to stand strong when life gets uncomfortable.

In our classes, we help kids learn how to use their voice, protect their space, stay calm under pressure, and defend themselves if they truly need to.

Run. Hide. Fight. — most people have heard it. Almost nobody has trained it.

Last Saturday we changed that.

Fire Captain BJ Knotts and Detective Jason Kedzierski from Metro Nashville PD came into Impact Martial Arts and put our attendees through the real thing. Armed gunman defense. Handgun and long gun drills. Third party threat scenarios. Then we stress drilled everything — because pressure reveals what you actually know.

Then Captain Knotts shifted the room.

Your body holds 7 liters of blood. A gunshot wound can drains 1 liter per minute. Every attendee went hands-on with tourniquet application before they left.

Surviving the fight is half the equation. Knowing what to do after is the other half.

We covered both.
