We were honored to celebrate one of our own at the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame Banquet! Coach Ed Freed left and continues to leave an impact on Pirate Nation! Congratulations on a well-deserved honor! Anyone who crossed paths with Coach Freed knows he belongs in the Hall of Fame!

We had a great time at 8th Grade Football Night earlier this week! We are incredibly excited about the future of Galena Pirates Football! The number of 8th Graders who have signed up to play next season is outstanding, and it speaks volumes about the growing enthusiasm and pride in our program.

Our coaching staff couldn’t be more fired up—not just about the numbers, but about the commitment, energy, and potential these young athletes are bringing with them. The foundation is strong, and the future is bright!

Thank you to the GHS Booster Club for getting us Titan Sensors! These will give coaches and athletes performance data about what happens on the field during practices and games. Instead of relying only on observation, the sensor measures real physical metrics like speed, distance, and workload. This tool will help us train smarter, monitor player health, improve performance, and connect physical data with game film. Thank you Booster Club for your continued support!! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
