I know we say it all the time, but NOBODY compares to Grandpa Ray Outdoors when it comes to wildlife attraction, real world testing, and research. NOBODY.
And there’s a reason nobody has answered John’s challenge to spend a day with him at one of his research facilities. The invitation is there. Come see the research. Come see the results. Come ask questions.
Recently, another food plot company mentioned our OG Trait Corn on a podcast. There were some jokes and some laughs about it.
So I’m going to extend the same kind of challenge John has.
Any food plotter, seed company, or “expert” is welcome to come to my farm and see it firsthand.
Come walk these plots. Look at the utilization. Look at how we manage access, screening, forage, and late-season food sources. I’ll gladly show you what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and the results we’re seeing.
Because here’s the thing none of us know everything. There is always more to learn. I’ve learned a tremendous amount over the years, and I’ll keep learning. But laughing at something simply because you don’t understand the reasoning behind it doesn’t make it wrong. Sometimes it just means there’s more to the story.
And that brings us to the corn…
We’re not trying to pretend corn is some magical, complete nutritional forage for whitetails. That’s not its job in our program.
Our corn has a purpose: screening and access management, security cover, and a late-season source of carbohydrates and energy when deer can benefit from it most.
So ask yourself this: Why would we design the plant so every ear is easily accessible and encourage deer to hammer it from early fall onward?
We don’t want maximum consumption on Day 1. We want maximum VALUE throughout the season.
That’s the difference between simply planting a food plot and actually understanding what role each plant is supposed to play in an overall habitat-management system.
Don’t take my word for it. Come see it.
The farm is open. The challenge is on.
