BRINGING GUESTS
So yesterday we had unfortunately caught a community member bringing a guest onto the range without a guest pass. They then proceeded to say that they didn’t know they had to fill out a guest pass, or they filled one out in May but didn’t know it was only for a single day, and then said their guest was just sitting there and not shooting.
So, we have cameras that also include sound. So we have a recording of this person saying their friend wasn’t shooting, and we have video of his friend shooting even though he said he wasn’t shooting.
So a couple of things. First, even if you bring someone onto the range that isn’t shooting, they MUST still fill out a guest pass. Just because they aren’t shooting doesn’t mean something can’t happen and without the insurance waiver, this puts everyone and the range in danger.
Second, please do NOT sneak people onto the range. Besides the danger of not having them covered under the waiver, you are also now creating a trespassing situation on a fi****ms range. That can get you in a LOT of trouble.
We have a great range and we try to keep that community feel, with a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. That being said, we do pay attention. We can see and hear with the cameras. We have several range managers and RSOs. We are all tasked to police each other and look for unsafe practices and rule violations.
You may get away with something sometimes but you will get caught eventually so my point is why?
I am very upfront with everyone. If you aren’t sure, talk to me. We are very clear with expectations of respecting the range, the rules and the those of our community.
If you are unsure of the rules for bringing a guest or anything else, ALWAYS text me and ask. Don’t just do something and then get called out on it.
The above mentioned person lost his membership permanently. He will NEVER be allowed back on our range. I don’t think trying to sneak someone onto the range was worth the loss of membership to our community, but if someone proves untrustworthy, we will not allow them to stay.
Everyone following the rules must be protected.
Let’s continue to grow our community and elevate each other.
Let’s continue to have safe practices and watch out for each other.
Thank you to everyone who make our community great!

COMMUNITY BBQ
Hello everyone. I’m sure most of you have noticed our Sunday September 6th end of summer bbq.
Please do us a favor. Many times in the past so many like the post, but never rsvp. Then we have several guests attend that didn’t rsvp.
We LOVE that you come, but there is a certain amount of logistics that goes into setting these events up.
Please rsvp if you plan to come. Mindy has her information listed, and you can also reach out to Cameo or myself, or Connie if you have her information.
You are never expected to bring anything, but if you want to we are happy to give suggestions as to what we need, or maybe you have something you are famous for that you would like to bring.
As long as we know so we can plan and make these events as inclusive as possible.
Let us know and hopefully we see you out there!

To the future REVOKED guests of Alex Acres Rifle and Pistol range….

When you sign up and tour the range, you are shown which steel you can shoot with your center fire rifles aka which steel we provide for you - Picture 1.

You are also told to not shoot other things that don’t belong to you. Apparently this is a hard concept.
Pictures 2-4. If it’s not yours, you didn’t bring it, or it was set back out of the way (again, not yours) don’t touch it, set it up and shoot it. This spinner was set behind the berm, bc it’s mine not yours so that we as the owners could pull it out when we wanted to use it. NOT YOU.
You took it upon yourself to get something that’s not yours, then set it up and shoot it with your center fire rifle and damage the spinner. This has happened more than once, and our other spinner is broken bc the spinners were completely snapped off as they were shot by center fire rifles when they are clearly not meant for center fire rifles and also, NOT YOURS TO TOUCH!
It is definitely something that does not look like it should be shot with a center fire rifle.

You are also asked to clean up your brass, including what may fly out in front of the enclosed benches. When the range is cold, it is your responsibility to clean up after yourselves. Your mommy and/or wifey doesn’t live here and clean up after you.

If something is damaged or broken, you are asked to report that as well so it can be repaired/replaced quickly. There is no penalty for accidental damage, but there will be one if you do not report it and we find you on the cameras and have to seek you out.

For those of you that know all of the rules and see others doing wrong things and don’t say anything to the wrongdoers or reach out to Steve and Cameo, you are also guilty of the offense.

This range is a privilege to be a guest of, and there are many others hungry for your spot. If you cannot appreciate and take care of what we invite you to use, we can invite other guests that will appreciate and take care of this space and you will no longer enjoy the privileges of being a guest of this range.

So there will be several steps occurring if this happens again:

1. Offender(s) will be found on camera, your picture and name will be posted on our page so everyone knows who is to blame. You will no longer be welcome at the range, permanently as in forever for those that have a hard time comprehending.

2. Since we are all supposed to be policing each other, anyone found on camera not reporting to us or addressing the offender (bc everyone has been told we are all policing each other here) minimally you will be put on probation for the term of your guest privileges.

Next steps will be:

- Increasing guest fees to cover the cost of full-time RSOs who will be standing over everyone’s shoulders monitoring everything.

******************************************************

If we are going to act like spoiled, entitled children then you will be treated as such.

******************************************************

There is not another range like this anywhere close by, either appreciate it and take care of it or lose it.

IMPORTANT RENEWAL INFORMATION

Good morning Alex Acres Community. I wanted to post some information to avoid any confusion or misunderstandings later.

Beginning August 1st, we will officially move our accounting portion of new memberships and renewals to a bookkeeper.
What this means for you. As far as the current process, new memberships and renewals stay the same. Fill out the application or the renewal form, and then contact Cameo or myself to meet in person at the range.
HOWEVER, if you do not renew BEFORE your shooters card expires, the bookkeeper removes you from active community shooter status.
At that point you are not permitted to shoot at the range, and your spot will be opened up to the next person on the standing open application waitlist which is currently more than a year wait.

One of 2 things happens at that point. If you contact us BEFORE we fill your spot, you can renew but since we have to pay extra to the bookkeeper to bring you back to active status and whatnot, you will have to pay the higher new member application fee instead of the lower cost renewal fee, and you will need to fill out a whole new application instead of the much simpler and easier renewal form.
Secondly, if you do not contact us in time and your spot is filled, then when you do contact us again you will be on the waitlist and will NOT be an active shooter until a new spot opens for you. In this case we will insert former members to the top of the waitlist, but that still means waiting until a spot opens before you are able to complete the application process and have shooting privileges again.

Please help us to help you. Check your shooters card. Put a reminder of your end date in your Google Calendar a couple weeks before it actually expires and make sure to contact us before your end date.
Also, spread the word to your friends and others you see at the range. The more we communicate the better it is for everyone.

We do hope to evolve to a point where we will be able to send reminder emails or texts, belittling we aren’t there yet so we are going to ask you to be responsible for your own reminder for now.
If you have any questions, please text me (Steve) at 302-268-7771.
If you are currently expired and you did not realize, reach out RIGHT AWAY and we will get you situated without the extra cost or waitlist status since we are just giving this notice.
We will offer this exception until the end of July.
Lastly, we will be checking cards so be prepared for this. Anyone who has an expired card is NOT PERMITTED TO BE ON THE RANGE PER OUR INSURANCE COMPANY, and is considered trespassing by the insurance company. I believe you can see why this is a huge deal, so please be aware of this and help us to keep everyone safe and compliant.

Water Donations to the Range

Hello Alex Acres Community.
With the weather getting dangerous, I am asking if anyone would be willing to donate waters to the range. We would keep them in the kitchen refrigerator for anyone who needs water. It’s easy to forget or run out. Let’s take care of and watch out for each other.
Waters or any other types of drinks you want to bring. Gatorade if you don’t like water is also good.
If anyone needs to take some waters, please remember to return some as well. We had lots and they were used up but none were brought back so please, if we could all chip in that would be great.
Thank you and see you on the range!

Apocalypse Alley is officially ready to go. Real world shooting scenarios, unknown distances that will change regularly, even the ability to find and see targets changes depending upon the season.
This will definitely challenge your rifle shooting skills.
We also have CQB rubber targets at closer distances with moveable barricades, and coming soon a clay thrower for your shotgun fix!
Apocalypse Alley offers several different varieties of shooting scenarios for rifles, pistols or PCC’s.
Apocalypse Alley requires a shooting test on the main range. Please reach out for information on how to qualify for this exciting new section of Alex Acres!

Good morning Alex Acres Community. This is a reminder to check your renewal date for the upcoming month.
As some of you may know, we are waitlisted for open applications. Minimum wait right now is approximately 6 months.
So, what does that mean for current members?
DO NOT let your membership expire if you plan on renewing. If you do, you are removed from the community roster and if you decide to turn in a new application you will be on that waitlist.
Application and payment MUST be received BEFORE your expiration date or we open up that spot to a new applicant.
If you renew early, we of course will renew it on your original date so you don’t lose time.
Also, once application and payment are received, you are locked in so even if you can’t get to Alex Acres for your new card right away, that isn’t an issue.
This is to make sure we keep a consistent number of shooters without becoming too crowded. We never want any of the shooters in our community to arrive and have to wait because we allowed too many new members.
We are all about growth and fostering new shooters, but not at the expense of losing our community feel that makes Alex Acres what it is.
If you have any questions please TEXT Steve at 302-268-7771.
All application information is on our website at AlexAcresRange.com
Thank you and see you on the range soon!
