Training Ving Tsun is a fulfilling and challenging experience that allows students to study at their own pace. The art of Ving Tsun allows the practitioner to rapidly develop self-defense skills, yet has enough depth to study for a lifetime. On the weekend of July 11, 2025, Montgomery County Kung Fu hosted the Moy Tung Kung Fu family for a weekend seminar. Ving Tsun students and instructors gathered in Maryland from around the country for the event.

Grandmaster Moy Tung lectured on several Ving Tsun topics and personally oversaw several training sessions. Sigung Rob Squatrito led a panel discussion with Grandmaster Moy Tung and three senior Sifus who discussed the continuing evolution of Ving Tsun, history of the art and shared some memories about what training was like in the early days of the Iowa City Academy back in the 1990s.

We really appreciate the support from Grandmaster Moy Tung, our Sigung Rob Squatrito, and all the participants who came together for this productive weekend of training and experiencing kung fu life.
