I've been out 6 times this year. Called in my granddaughters 1st bird on youth day. She had a good 11 Tom's decided to show off.
After that called is an awesome Tom for my oldest friend a d hunting buddy .
Birds 4 & 5 I shot Va opening weekend and Md opening weekend.
Next up my buddy dave I set him up where he had birds roasting overhead. He took a fine 11" 1/8 beard and very respective 1" + spurs.

At Morning Sun we had another great season. Tagged out in MD and doubled up on a pair of fine birds in Va.
One hunt was cut short with an intruder who took a dirt nap.

I make pot calls. Mostly Spalted maple slate on slate or slate over crystal. My strikers are made from Africa Blackwook and tuned to the call.
What's nice about spalted maple and a African Blackwood strikers is the range of tones.

This weather in Maryland right now reminds me of SD hunting birds in a blizzard with Clayton Faubion of Red Water Guide service and my buddy Grosvenor Merel-Smith It was cold one day and 60s the next.

African Blackwood strikers and spalted maple pot calls. I love the sound of Slate over slate. Many birds have fallen to these calls.
