Flags For Our Heroes Memorial Day Weekend 2026. Honor our community heroes - past and present. 750 American flags. Who’s your hero?

Celebrate the life and/or memory of the personal heroes in your life and, at the same time, make a tax-deductible charitable contribution benefiting the greater Gaithersburg community this coming Memorial Day weekend. 750 American flags (made in America) will be on display in Bohrer Park along Route 355 starting on Friday May 26th through Memorial Day - Monday, May 29th. Fund raising efforts like

the Flags for Our Heroes project provide the revenue to fund the Montgomery Village, Historic Emory Grove and Gaithersburg Rotary Clubs Foundations charitable contributions in the community. We've made grants to many organizations over the year - some are listed below:

Flags for our Heroes 2026
The Rotary Club of Gaithersburg is proud to “Unite for Good” with local youth organizations and the City of Gaithersburg to present Flags for Our Heroes 2026. This is your opportunity to honor your personal hero—someone who has made a lasting difference in your life. It may be a member of the military, police, fire department, or another first responder who puts their life on the line for us every day. It could also be a family member, doctor, teacher, coach, mentor, community leader, or anyone whose courage, care, or commitment has inspired you.

From the evening of May 22 through noon on May 25, 750 American flags will stand proudly in Bohrer Park, Gaithersburg each one bearing the name of a sponsor and the hero they are honoring—a powerful and visible tribute to the people who matter most. Flag sponsorships provide funding for the Gaithersburg Rotary Foundation to support charitable organizations in Montgomery County, around the USA and worldwide.
