FedEx yesterday “attempted” to delivery three packages. Well, not really. I watched the video. Delivery guy knocked on the outer door (new driver so I want to give the benefit of the doubt, but there are multiple company names outside the door where one can deduce that it’s a suit of offices and likely no one can hear your knock), waited a few seconds, and then slapped a door sticker on the door and left. (People went through that door minutes before and minutes after, so I know it wasn’t locked.) Didn’t check any of the boxes in the sticker.
The FedEx.com tracking said that they would redeliver the next day (today). I went to the office early today to make sure I was there.
At 11:54, without a delivery person getting near the door, without a fedex truck ever pulling into the parking lot, FedEx.com updated saying that they attempted to deliver again. I tried to call the local Ground hub (Braselton, Ga). They won’t answer their phone. In fact, after ringing for several minutes, the message says that they aren’t accepting calls at this time.
So I call the 800 number. I’m told that the website is wrong and that the packages were at the facility being held for pickup.
So I drive 40 minutes to the Braselton Hub. There is a sign and a phone in the office (as is their norm here) and you have to call someone in another part of the facility. That person tells me that the packages aren’t ready for pickup. I asked, “why not?” They are supposedly on the truck and the truck is still out making deliveries.
“What time will he be back? I’ll wait.”
She responded that she has to call his manager and the manager has to call him and then she’ll get back to me when she hears back. And he has until 9pm to get back here.
I doubt that I’ll hear back in a reasonable amount of time, but I let her know I’m just going to sit here and wait for the truck.
If you can avoid shipping fedex ground in north ga, do it. They will “lose” your packages, miss-track your packages, lie about what’s going on, ignore any opportunity to help you, and never apologize for screwing it up.
