PEAK Strength and Fitness We use comprehensive integrated training to improve strength,mobility,balance and cardio vascular fitness. Keith has also practiced Kung Fu since 2003.

Peak Strength and Fitness combines multiple types of exercises and methods to provide a fun and challenging full body workout. Keith (Dr.C) Carodine PhD, is the Head Trainer of Peak Strength & Fitness. After working in administration for the University of Florida Athletic Association (UAA) for 25 years, Keith decided to pursue his passion for fitness training. In addition to holding a doctorate

degree, Keith holds the following NASM certifications: Certified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, Senior Fitness-and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Keith is a former NCAA college basketball player and assistant coach. Peak Strength and Fitness is a Fitness Center that utilizes integrated training to help people attain their fitness and performance goals. The integrative approach develops all facets of fitness in all planes of motion. Peak will offer personal training programming and group exercise classes. The personal training programs are individualized to help a person attain their goals and improve their functional fitness. Dependent upon how the person adapts to training these programs change every four to six weeks. There are three primary types of group classes, traditional strength/circuit training, tabata and cardiovascular (HIIT style) focused.

The trap bar deadlift is an excellent total body strength exercise for all ages. Some benefits are:
1) Reduced risk of a lower back strain because you are standing in the center of the bar instead of the bar in front like in the barbell deadlift.
2) Joint friendly grips which reduces stress on your wrists, elbows and rotator cuff.
3) The set up allows for increased quad engagement due to the centered load which allows a person to recruit the leg muscles earlier in the movement. The earlier recruitment of the leg muscles could also allow the to use heavier weights.
4)Assists in the development of explosive power. You can generate more vertical force which makes the trap bar an excellent for training jumping power and athletic explosiveness.

DELOAD and RECOVERY. One of my favorite places for deloading and recovery happens to be the best hot yoga studio at the beach Just 26 Hot Yoga in Largo Fl adjacent to Indian Rocks Beach. Great instructors, and community!!! Be sure you check it out if you are in the area.

Peak Strength and Fitness congratulates the athletes of Gainesville Area Rowing (GAR), Coach Garrett Bauer and his staff on a great showing at this past weekends US Rowing Junior National Championships. Four boats qualified for Nationals with three earning top 20 final rankings. The Men’s Youth 4 finished 6th. The Women’s Youth 4+ finished 20 and the Men’s U17 finished #12. Brice and I have enjoyed working with GAR athletes the past two years because they are focused and work hard. We also want to congratulate all the seniors on graduating and wish them the best in their collegiate careers GO GAR!!

Peak Strength and Fitness welcomes Miguel Carodine to the summer coaching staff. Miguel is currently the Head Strength Coach at Oak Hall School Eagles the 2025 State 3A football champions. He holds an Master’s of Science in Exercise Science along with the following training and coaching certifications:
NSCA-CSCS .
NASE-Certified Speed Coach.
USAW1-Sport Performance Coach.
CsCcA-SCCC. .
Miguel has also had successful experience at the collegiate level.
Asst. Director of Olympic Sports Georgetown University. Georgetown won the men soccer national championship in 2019 when Miguel served as the strength coach.

Congratulations to two of our members Jen Figueroa and Karyn Austin on their medal winning performances last weekend at the Lucy’s Lake Open Water Swim. Jen won the gold medal in her age category finishing almost 3minutes ahead of her competition. Karyn had a strong winning finishing while earning silver in her age category. Great job Jen and Karyn -Strong Stuff 🏊‍♀️💪🏽

Mobility Training to improve joint stability and its range of motion.
Balance for fall prevention.
