Kyoto is only the beginning.

Our Kyoto to the Sea ride starts in one of Japan's best-known cities, then pedals north into a very different Japan — quiet mountain roads, river valleys and villages of traditional thatched-roof farmhouses.

That's one of the things we love about seeing Japan by bike: the famous places can be part of the journey without being the whole journey.
