Hello everyone,

The governor has allowed gyms to reopen as of May 18th. We preemptively closed the gym on March 9th about two weeks before being required to and we stopped billing all members on March 21st.

We plan to reopen the gym for existing members only next Monday June 1st. For our initial reopening we will be offering BJJ and Kickboxing for adults only with a maximum of eight students per class. The mat will be divided into four sections of approximately 15'x15' with two students occupying each section. Our preference is that students work with the same training partner for the entire class. If you prefer you may bring your own non member partner that you are already in contact with to be your training partner at no additional membership cost.

We would like to know who is interested in coming back in June and who is not so that when I turn the billing back on we don't start billing you if you do not plan on returning yet. We would also like to know what classes you are interested in (BJJ, Kicboxing, both) and what times slots you prefer (Lunch, Evening, Weekend) so that we can construct an appropriate schedule.

Please respond to this email or call us and let us know if you plan on returning in June and what classes and time slots interest you.

On Friday Governor DeSantis issued an executive order mandating that all gyms and health clubs in the state of Florida close for business. West End Martial Arts had already announced a two week voluntary closure last Monday to be as proactive as possible in protecting our community. Since we are unsure when we will be able to resume regular classes we can not in good conscience continue to bill you for membership fees. As of today we have frozen all memberships in place so that no new membership dues will be collected. When we reopen your memberships will be unfrozen and will continue as normal. During this time take advantage of all of the free instructional materials that are available on our page. If interest is expressed we are able to offer group yoga/conditioning classes in the park that maintain the appropriate distances. Let us know if this is something that you are interested in.
