I like throwing swimbaits, crankbaits , and all kind of lures .. and In one way or another they are all custom modified in most cases.

I like throwing the ol Car-o-line Rig too so figured I would share an example of one here to mix it up.

She was of the biggest ones I believe I’ve got on film .

Just shy of 9 on Sam Rayburn in Texas.

It was created with a razor knife to be a system of baits that checked all the boxes. Swam forward, down, and upward. Worked great on the camera, works great walking down the bank and with various attachments . Some that haven’t been disclosed. Salt, Fresh, deep, shallow whatever..

It was created to take things to the next phase and aiming to license with another manufacturer.

That’s where it gets interesting .. and that’s a path I’d been down several times before and why XLC/MAG exists in the first place.

More than a dozen reached out, a few very interested ,
and offers were presented…

Didn’t take long for flashbacks of the same ol same off based comparison came back around so I threw them in the trash. Forget the money, tossed the drawings and technical information about them in the fire pit, used the prototype molds for filler, clipped a blade on the front and went fishing …

Gave away over 50 of the original prototypes to customers that’s supported the projects all over the country , and never felt better about it.
